Re: Weight Loss-Some Advice

Postby Spontaneo » 22 Nov 2024, 03:23

I have had to do some research. I am at the bottom of my Slim Fast canister and needed to find out what I can do by myself to improvise.

One website said that Carnation Instant Breakfast is about the same with all of the same nutrients and minerals just cheaper. I have had such instant breakfast once or twice in the past and didn't find the drink to be filling.

Then, I found out that I have been doing the right thing this whole while! I came across a website that said to consume peanut butter and jelly smoothies! I have been having pb&j smoothies in like forever!

This is what I prepare in my blender:

water
ice cubes
peanut butter
jelly (any flavor that you like!)

Blend! Voila!

On YouTube, a woman talked about an ingredient for her smoothies that I never thought about... cookies! I have Girl Scout thin mint cookies, chocolate chip cookies and graham crackers to use up!

She used ice cream but I usually do not. Only on special occasions.

She used milk, but I usually don't.

PB&J Smoothies prepared with jelly as opposed to fresh fruit is alot cheaper!

This YouTube video is delicious and affordable! I hope that you like it!

I have lost some considerable weight over the last few months. How did I achieve that? I reduced my feeding rations.

That is awesome! Just don't starve yourself!

You know how in the YouTube video above, the woman used Vanilla Wafers in her PB & J smoothie?

Guess what a friend brought myself today? Nilla Wafers! What are the chances of this happening?!?!

I had a peanut butter and jelly smoothie today. I can have one more later on. I used water, ice cubes, creamy JIF and grape jelly for my smoothie pitcher.

I recently came across a program called "The Smoothie Diet". I have not done any research on such diet, but thought that I might pass the diet on to you.

Here is the link:

I watch calories according to myfitnesspal's math. When I tell members of Weight Loss Buddy my food diary, the members always disagree with the math and say I am consuming alot. People on WLB talk of their fancy food and gym memberships and expensive exercise gear.

Wouldn't you think that MFP knows what they are talking about? I may not have all of their money, but I count grocery shopping, cleaning, laundry and in-home walking as exercise.

Those things are exercise, I agree. Is that the part they disagree with you about though? Or is it the number of calories? How do you know how many calories are in what you eat? Sometimes it's printed on the packaging, but with fresh foods, what do you do? Do you look up an average for the type of food, or what? I'm just curious how it works. Sometimes you post that a particular food has "astronomical" calories and I wonder where you are getting that from?

Re the smoothie diet, their claims seem a bit dodgy "The great thing is that you will see almost instant weight loss results". That doesn't seem likely unless it causes you to need the toilet a lot.

Don't get me wrong, it might be possible to lose weight through a smoothie diet, that site just seems kind of scammy.

Lady, you drive myself bonkers. ;) ;)

No, the members do not argue about the exercise.

How do I know the calories? They have a food database.

OK? Make sense?

I didn't say that they did.

So does it have like "one boiled potato = x calories" etc? That sounds useful. I was wondering because you have posted on the forum before asking how many calories were in things. It must be easier to keep track if you have a consistent source to check.

I didn't say that they did. I was asking because you followed on to say what exercise you do, which is not really relevant if that isn't what they were talking about.

Yes. You can log in "hot dog" and the database tells you the calories, sugar, fat, sodium, protein and carb.
