Re: Lose Weight And Be Happy

Postby Spontaneo » 09 Dec 2024, 03:29

I have decided not to follow the Slim Fast 3-2-1 plan.

Instead of those 3 mini-meals, I really need to incorporate more shakes/smoothies more than I already am.

A friend suggested buying a NutriBullet for shakes/smoothies that are powerful enough to juice like a juicer. I told her that I wanted to be able to have vegetables.

Do you know about blenders?

Last week, I went shopping for coats and the assortment did not fit.

Today, I found 4 coats and wanted them all! But, I thought to myself, put on in case the coats do not fit. Guess what? Too small.

So, I definitely need smoothies.

I found a really nice black coat on www.thredup.com in a size sure to fit! 20WP. The devil is not going to win this battle. The coat may be a little big but you have to think of things this way... heavy clothes are going to be worn underneath.

I wear a petite as am only 5 ft. 1in. So, the coat is not going to drag on the ground! Yay!

Re: Lose Weight And Be Happy

Postby Spontaneo » 04 Jan 2025, 02:09

Lately, my taste buds have changed to various sorts. I would drink from diet Arnold Palmers (homemade) to mochas to sweet tea to diet soft drinks.

I absolutely love coffee now. I used to only love iced coffee!

Just so the coffee keeps myself away from junk, I am happy!

Before Christmas, I bought 2 boxes of 18 count Breakfast Blend that I have not opened yet. Then Santa Claus and Mrs. Santa Claus, all the reindeer and elves brought myself a box of Cafe Bustelo espresso and a box IHOP! A neighbor gave myself amaretto k-cups and Jamaican me crazy k-cups! I just brewed an IHOP k-cup. Delicious!

Then, my roommate gave me an annual flavored Swiss Colony coffee sampler. Then, an assortment of Grinchmas hot chocolate for when I need a good cup of mocha and really, really want to splurge.

This past Tuesday, I played bingo and won 2 boxes of Panera Bread coffee k-cups!

I have been blessed. Yes, I would really love a glass of wine. :(

Hang in there, @Spontaneo! I've always been in shape but as I get older, I'm finding that it get harder to keep the weight off. Plus I work remotely and therefore lead a very sedentary life. For that reason, I try to squeeze in as much walking as I can to stay fit. Jogging is not for me at all. However, if I had the time, I'd also join the gym because I really like the interaction. I'd love to get into yoga as well. I also try to stick to a fairly balanced diet with a few naughty treats here and there to stay motivated.

Good for you for keeping slim and not overweight. Personal reasons made the pounds creep up on myself for the truth. I was 94 pounds with no medicine, no doctors, no ugly features, pretty, outgoing, etc. Voted best dressed, on the National Honor Society, M.E.R.I.T Scholar Program, danceline, homecoming court, etc. What went wrong? Nasty, toxic people.

Re: Lose Weight And Be Happy

I recently started consuming Keto bread in place of white and Italian. Instead of consuming 110 calories per slice, the Keto bread only has 30 calories per slice! That's what I'm talking about!

My roommate was upset that the Keto bread costs $6.00 a loaf. What's worse? Spend a little money on my good health or pay for bad health?

-- 07 Jan 2025, 17:34 --

Today, I wanted a really healthy dish that was really easy to chew.

As I searched the kitchen, I found quite alot of canned vegetables! Voila! Crock-Pot vegetable soup!

3 hours on HIGH then I devoured!

I have not had my favorite iced mochas and mochas in like forever. So, I just had a mocha and the mocha tasted awful.

I have been drinking my diet Arnold Palmer (homemade) and does taste good!

First, I have already used up the keto bread. Instead of asking my roommate for another loaf, I simply asked for a low-calorie bread, which would be cheaper. She bought a loaf of Sara Lee delightful 94 which is one of my favorites! How did she know?

Then, we bought a new blender. I told my roommate that I wanted a blender specifically meant for smoothies. She chose an "Ice Crusher" blender. Not what I wanted. I am disappointed. Not going to argue.

Next, late last night, I was craving mashed potatoes so bad. I like to prepare instant mashed potatoes in the Crock-Pot. Simply, read the ingredients on the box, put in Crock-Pot, stir and cook on LOW for 2 hours! I had the instant mashed potatoes on at 9:30 am and then ate at 11:30 am! I had 2 servings with some for later. I worry about the sodium, but hey, instant mashed potatoes has to be a staple for when remaining teeth are gone. Filling, no empty calories.

I am so even more disappointed about the new blender. I just read all of the instructions and was told specifically not to use pepperoni or salami in the blender. I was looking forward to preparing a form of Hammy Sammy but instead of using bologna using pepperoni or salami. But I do not understand as the instructions say I can blend cooked meats? What would cooked meats entail?

Thank you for any hints.

I'm guesssing it means things like cooked chicken or beef. Don't know for sure, since I don't eat meat and have never put it in a blender, sorry.

Thank you anyway.

I can just use the Bella chopper for the pepperoni or salami then mix with Bella chopped pickles and mayonnaise.

I created my own listing on myfitnesspal.com for my own recipe of pepperoni spread. My serving is 172 calories, then, you can consume with bread, crackers, tortilla wraps, even by the spoonful.
