Re: Are you still eating meat??

For me, it's all about choice and eating everything you enjoy in moderation. If for personal reasons, you choose NOT to eat meat, fair enough. What I hate about many non meat eaters is the tendency to preach to us meat eaters. It's a free world, and everyone's entitled to make their own personal choices without being bashed over the head by anyone. In my country, beef is the cheapest meat available, so most people eat it regularly. I have cut right back on red meat, do the meatless Monday thing and mainly eat chicken and fish for health reasons.

I consume alot of pasta and potatoes.

My roommates like to have steak. I do not have any steak as I find too hard to swallow. I do not want to choke.

Yes, I do like burgers out of the air fryer possibly twice a week.

I like potatoes out of the air fryer close to every day. Cheap and can have them a variety of ways.

I have pasta almost every day, especially when I prepare Spaghetti Salad! Cheap and delicious!

Yes, I am a hungry girl! LOL

I often experience the opposite- meat eaters having a go at me for being vegetarian. I don't tell anyone else what to eat, or not to eat, but often as soon as someone finds out I'm vegetarian (usually because I politely refused some meat that was offered) they get defensive and start telling me why they eat meat and how much they love bacon and how I won't get enough protein or start making stupid jokes about it. It gets old.

Do you ever add vegetables to your burger, like lettuce and tomato, onion, pickles etc? The burger in the photo just looks like it needs a little something (to me anyway, you can of course eat how you like).

I am not a vegetarian and I agree with you on this one, it is something I have observed myself. It seems strange to me, that people, including on national media, feel it is OK to strongly and personally criticse people who are vegetarian or vegan, in a way that they would not do with other groups in society. If people chose to be vegetarian that has many benefits for the environment and for animal life, in my opinion this is something to be respected and not attacked in any way.

Yes, I'm still eating meat. I mainly eat chicken and pork, not beef. I also eat fish and a lot of vegetables. I'm on veggie diet twice a week.

Yes, I still eat meat on occasion. I am trying my best to lead a healthier lifestyle since hypertension and diabetes run in the family.

Yes, many people live well being vegetarian but they must find other sources of proteín, especially if they don't eat eggs.

That's not difficult. Protein is in pretty much everything, though in varying amounts. The best plant based sources are beans, lentils, peas, chickpeas and tofu.

Yes, I am. There is no plan for me to convert to being a vegetarian. In my view, it is fine to consume meat and balance it with eating some fruits or vegetables.

I think that grocery stores should arrange fruit and vegetables possibly near the entrance. Instead, around here, they are placed at the end of the store right next to the deli.

What do you think?

They are near the front of the store here. When you enter our local supermarket the bakery and deli are on the left and the fruit and veg is basically right in front of you. Dairy and other cold stuff is at the back.

I agree the fruits and vegetables should be stored near the entrance in order to help customers easily locate and purchase the items they need.

Also, the layout of a grocery store may vary slightly from one store to another, but the general organization typically follows these guidelines. Signs and labels are usually provided to help customers locate specific items within each section. If you can't find a particular fruit or grocery item, don't hesitate to ask a store employee for assistance.

My local Dollar Tree has become quite confusing though. The store not only sells all items for $1.25 but other items that are more expensive. These items do not have any tags or labels. So, one doesn't know until one gets to the cashier about the cost.

Quite frustrating especially if one is on a budget.

Is there any other meat type beside beef and chicken? Just curious

People can be healthy without eating meat. I am. I'm not telling you what to eat though, and I know not everybody has access to the same foods.
