Some expired foods if they have gone bad would give a peculiar smell.
Also one needs to take care to keep cooked foods like vegetables in the Fridge at the right time, especially during the summers.
If left unattended, hey might rote easily.
And many a times, food more than 3-4 days older is likely to go bad.
