Feel free to ask me anything you like about my pets, what I get up to during my day (nothing too personal!), what I like doing etc.

Where are your favorite places to visit in the world?
Are you a tea or coffee drinker, and more importantly do you 'dunk'? :D

As carer for my 9 year old granddaughter I don't have a lot of time for hobbies and most of my activities are child related. I consider my online sites to be my hobbies as I spend a good amount of time on them.

One of the loveliest places I visited was Greece and I do intend to go back someday. I liked Germany, it was diferent to how I expected but some of my favourite places are right here in the UK. I love the Dorset coast and being in Wiltshire I'm not too far away.

I'm a tea drinker ... of course I dunk I'm British!

IcyFirefly wrote:What a typical normal day is like for you? And how do you deal with stress?

My world is very child related. There is the mad dash for the school run, visiting my sister who is ill, walking the dogs 3 times a day, the afternoon school run and trying to make time for my online sites and my partner. I often wonder how I ever fitted work in before I retired!

I wouldn't say I was a stressy person although I get anxious over certain things such as having to drive unfamilar places or worrying about my granddaughter when she goes on school trips (which she does quite regularly), but not generally. There has to be a reason .. I try to keep busy and not think about whatever is worrying me although it seldom works.

I have two dogs, a very old cat of almost 19 and two dwarf hamsters. I have put a picture up of my dogs on Old Friend's post.

ceci wrote:Do you love to cook?

I cooked for a living for many years and quite enjoyed it but now I find it a bit of a chore. I have to cook properly because I look after a child but I often wish I didn't have to.

That's a bit of a sore point! I was told by the pet shop that they were the only type of hamsters that could actually share a cage but I noticed after a couple of weeks that they were really fighting so I had to go out and buy another cage. They seem quite happy living separately although I have two cages I have to clean out now!

No websites .. I wouldn't have a clue I'm afraid as my computer skills are rather basic :?

Sorry for raising a sore point, we had a dwarf hamster some years ago, just one, but I do seem to remember that the recommendation at the time was only one per cage, hence my question.

Definitely a morning person. I am up at around 6 am and wilting around 9 pm. Most of my online work is done during the early part of the day before the madness of getting ready for school begins!

Yes I think we were misinformed. Although they lived together in the shop and were initially ok, one of them became aggressive towards the other within a few weeks of owning them.

Yes I do like reading. I love romance and horror but it is a standing joke in our family that I enjoy reading my car manuals even though I never fixed a car in my life!

My online activities are my hobby .. I don't do them for money but to fill in time now that I am retired. I also spend a lot of time with my dogs, walking them 3 or 4 times a day. At the moment I am taking care of my sister who is not well and the rest of my time is spent chasing after my granddaughter. I think I am busier now than when I had a full time job .. I often wonder how I fitted it in!

I started off as a secretary when I left college in the late 60s and did that until I had children. Then I worked in a supermarket for around 10 years which I loved as I enjoyed the contact with the public after being a stay at home mum for 8 years, After that I took on a cooking job and there I gained qualifications in catering and worked in this line until I retired. Quite a mixed bag really. :)

Yes plenty but I don't dwell on them as they are past. I would do some things differently if I had my time over again as I was a bit wild when I was younger and made some rash decisions. I'm a strong person though and my life experiences have made me this way.

I drink regular tea, not really into all these fancy types. Marmite! I don't hate it but I don't buy it very often. If someone gave it to me on a piece of toast I would eat it providing it wasn't too thick but it's not a big favourite of mine. The ad shown below always makes me laugh when I see it:-
