When you started FC, did you buy or purcahse an Application and then install it on your own computer? Is FC hosted similar to a web page?

I would imagine that after several hundred members, you would be charged extra for bandwidth?

Are you able to alter the interface so you can tweak the FC pages to your liking?

Just curious and don't want to pry into figures and income and all of that. Just general answers.

Also, does a "hosting service" handle this kind of a talk board or is it special.

Thanks for your question ninjasmile. My hobbies are reading, walking to keep fit, socialising with friends and family and the Internet. Owning ForumCoin is sort of like a hobby, I do take it seriously and work hard at growing it, but it is not profitable, so I wouldn't describe it as a business or work

ForumCoin is hosted by Hawk Host, when we first set up the site it was with a different host, but it has always been with a web hosting service. I have never hosted the site on my own computer. The site itself is run on the phpBB forum software, which is open source. I have owned licences to paid software but phpBB is the software that seemed most applicable to our uses. CyberFreak is also very experienced with and knowledgeable of the phpBB software, which is a great help to me.

Are you able to alter the interface so you can tweak the FC pages to your liking?

Yes, ForumCoin has a customised forum design template which was most kindly provided by http://www.bradleyv.com/. The template HTML and PHP can be edited to suit our requirements and it can be changed to meet our needs.

We just use a general hosting service, we have a VPS from Hawk Host, it is not a particular service for a forum, as the same hosting service could be used for more or less any type of site.

Thanks for your question southernfried18. I like to read all kinds of books and reading is something I have done regularly for most of my life. At the moment I mostly read books relating to technology, popular science, health and the body and a little about self improvement. I also read some literature / fiction and my favorite writer of all time is Ernest Hemingway.

I am currently reading Brain Maker which is about how the microbes in your gut help your brain's health and the last book I read was Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman! an excellent book with autobiographical tales by the Nobel Prize winning Physicist Richard Feynman.

I'd hardly think so, I'm all for personal freedom and independence. The idea behind ForumCoin is to allow members earn ForumCoin and also to promote their business, product or service by selling in exchange for ForumCoin.

Yes I do and sometimes too much, but that's only on special occasions. Guinness is probably Ireland's most famous drink, but we are also well known for Irish whiskey, such as Jameson.
