Interview with PEEUSH TRIKHA

Postby ptrikha21 » 11 Aug 2019, 10:05

We are pleased to interview ptrikha21 today 11 August 2019

Q 1: What name do you prefer to use?

A: Ptrk or Ptrikha, but Peeush is also ok. Sir or TrikhaJi(as used by many in India sound imperialist to me).

Q 2: How old are you?

A: 41 Years and going to be 42 next month.

Q 3: Your birthdate? (Month and Day)

A: Sept 12

Q 4: Are you male, female, or other?

A: Male

Q 5: Married or single? (How long? Anniversary date?)

A: Married since 2008, and anniversary is on 27th January.

Q 6: Are you a student or adult beyond school?

A: I believe I am a student for life. And my field of Information Technology needs one to learn new skills everytime.

Q 7: Who was your favorite school teacher, and why?

A: My class teacher and teacher of Science and Maths from Class VI to VIII- Vasantha Mam. She was firm in her own right.
But motivated students and was helpful if we were not well.
I made a great progress under her and was often ranked among top 5 in the class, once I was second in a term exam in my class.

Q. 8 : What is your favorite memory from childhood. Describe.

A: Playing cricket with my brother on a pleasant October morning in a park close to our house. The rubber ball and the pace it gathered on the damp grassless ground and the shot making, it was so marvelous.
Also, watching Spiderman cartoon series in 1980s on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Q. 9: Do you have any earned college or university degrees? [and if so, describe]
A: I did Engineering and then a Diploma in Advanced Computing where I learnt a number of Programming Languages, OS concepts and concepts of Software Engineering.

Q 10: Do you work an offline full time job? [and if so, describe]

A: Yes I am an IT Professional with specialization in Database Design/Development and a fair amount of Administration.
If some day FC decides to switch to Oracle Database, I might be even able to apply for a job here!!
I am also well versed with Configuration Management and Application Deployments.

Q 11: Are you the boss, or an employee?

A: An employee, also known as IC- Independent Contributor but I also mentor others.

Q 12: Do you have special skills or training? [and if so, describe]

A: Most of my skills are Database Technology related like certifications in Oracle versions 9i, 11g, 12C. I also got training in email writing and Presentation skills. I think that I am good at email writing, but then can we judge ourselves?

Q 13: Are you looking for work? [If yes, What kind of work are you seeking?]

A: Well I am looking for opportunities to work on Data Analytics and NoSql Technologies like MongoDB, Hbase etc.
Also, I do submit fiction stories and articles on sites whenever I get chance, and want to develop Writing as my second good money earning profession.

Q 14: Do you support your family? [and if so, describe]

A: Yes not only in terms of money. I help in washing and drying clothes in washing machine, making tea occasionally.
I help kids get ready to school and in their school works as well. And in some of the things I do support morally and sometimes that is the toughest bit.

Q 15: Do you own, or rent a home? [and if so, describe]

A: I live in a rented accomodation, but we do have a parental place as well, but not owned by me.

Q 16: Where do you live? [just what country]

A: India.

Q 17: Do you practice any religion? [and if so, describe]

A: I am a Hindu. I do follow religious practices but am against fundamentalism, or imposing one's religion on others.
I like to imbibe good values from different cultures and religions.

Q 18: Do you have a sense of humor? [and if so, describe. Tell your favorite joke]

A: Initially I did not like joking much and did not like something making fun of me. Now, I seem to have developed a sense of self deprecation at times, something akin to the Irish people.
My favorite joke is a simple one:(Modified as per the current times rates)

A person and his friend go to a tea shop. There he sees Three kinds of tea on the rate list board.

Simple Tea : 10 INR

Special Tea : 20 INR

Reserved Tea : 30 INR

They talk between themselves: "This reserved tea must be unique and very special. So let us have it."
They drink the tea but do not find anything special.
Once they have done the payment, they ask the helper at the shop.
"What is special about Reserved Tea?"
He replies "Sir, whenever someone comes to have tea here, some little amount is left in the cup. We collect all the remaining tea from these cups, add some sugar, boil and give the tea to the customers who ask for "reserved" tea."

:D :)

Q 19: What kind of things do you like to do for entertainment?

A: I prefer Action and Thrillers as well as comedy movies- both Hollywood and Bollywood. Apart from that novels and some YouTube channels also entertain me.

Q 20: Do you prefer time with friends, family, or being alone?

A: I prefer alone time, but I am fine with friends and family.

Q 21 : Are you an introvert or extrovert?

A: I am an ambivert - a combine of introvert and extrovert. Yet I am more leaned towards an introvert type personality as I like being among books, exploring things myself and so on.

Q 22: What is your greatest accomplishment in life?

A: Well, I would say that my greatest accomplishment has yet to happen. It could be a workplace achievement or getting a super hit book published. Still, I can count a few (Please note: some of these might not fit in the standard definition of accomplishments)

1)One of the newcomers in my company was addicted to listening on music on his headphone or earphone while working in the office.
His performance was getting impacted. Nobody was guiding him, and they were either mocking or making fun behind him.
I decided to intervene though I had no official authority. I talked to him separately and said that such a behavior is not helping him, and is not ok for his career. Things improved rapidly for him from there.
I do consider it as one of my accomplishment.

2)My overall contribution to my official team over the past few years even with certain adverse personal situations, and the dedication to the work there.

3)I once took three wickets for eight runs in five balls in a Tennis ball match in my college. This helped my team win the match and I always remember this performance.
I once scored 14 runs of 8 balls in another match with a huge six but our team lost that match. So I do not remember that match fondly.

Hi

Good to read your interview. Have also written mine here.

Anyways, the first time we met was on a website called Blogjob. Then we interacted on a chat application. After sometime, blogjob changed its norms and it was abandoned. Since then earning scope is limited. Once thought of meeting you offline too but it did not materialize.

Anyways leave it, what more avenues are you exploring recently?

Well I am focusing once more on Fiction writing, and apart from Online here on FC and Mylot, I am also helping out my wife on her YouTube channel, which is by itself a big task.
And offline, I am into additional Projects, so my current work plus family life is being very busy and at times stressful.

Ptrikha thanks for sharing more of yourself. You always stayed true to your passion for writing and I believe you'll go through with the book. Yes, the way you handled the situation with your colleague is an accomplishment. Not everyone could get someone to make adjustments in their behaviour so easily. With you, people just know that your motives are pure and they'll trust your advice. I notice you couldn't resist talking about cricket either :D That sounds just like Ptrikha!

Thanks for the compliments and also in a way helping my (in a way, my and my wife's ) journey on YouTube.
I have found that helping other good folks makes one feel satisfied and happy, even if that does not earns us any bucks.
And yes, I am a big cricket enthusiast. One of my ideal day thought is to be sitting lazily, eating one of my favorite thing, or drinking tea and watching a cricket match being played on a bouncy Australian wicket!

So what's one of your favourite things to eat? I read over everything up top but didn't see anything on it.

Yes, while I have a passion and bias towards cricket, I follow Football(soccer), especially the World Cup. I followed World Cup 2018 very closely.
I also follow Tennis, Hockey(field hockey) and in the past I was also closely following Athletics- especially 100M, 200M, 400M etc.
Remember the days of Carl Lewis?

Not only do I watch them but I have written and published reviews at my blog and at sites like Virily.

Yuvraaj. I love the soundtrack.

Karam. That was a serious love story.

Kashmir. I never really about that place until I watched this movie.

Mary Kom. I didn't know she was a real person.

I could go on and on.

I watched most of the movies with the 3 Khans of Bollywood: ShahRukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan. The 2 Bachchan men: the father and the son. Pretty boy, Shahid Kapoor. The other pretty boy John Abraham. :D

I love the Bollywood babes: Priyanka Chopra-Jonas, Kareena Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Kangana Ranaut, Deepika Padukone, Jackie Fernandez.

I could go on and on and on. My husband started me watching Indian films about 25 years ago.
