Reputation and balance?

Postby AmeerKalera » 30 Aug 2015, 11:39

I have a question, if we are awarded with good reputation then our balance remains same and if we are awarded with bad reputation and 10 FC are deducted from our balance. Why is that that? If there's deduction from our balance then why it doesn't add 10 FC in our account. Anyone please clear this?

Hi Friends,

It is easy to spoil our career but it is difficult to build our career like that the admin is deducting 10 FC as a warning for bad reputation. When we are violated rules in posting we may get bad reputation, so you have to post quality and useful content in postings. The post must be some meaning and useful to others

If the site had to pay out extra coins every time someone got a good rep point it would probably go bust in a very short time. I would rather keep things the way they are and know that it is running smoothly.

The negative rep is to remind people to write quality posts and stick to the rules of the forum. Losing coins is more likely to stop people doing these things than just receiving the rep itself.

Yes, our balance remains the same when we awarded reputation. Penalizing us for a negative standing is a signal that we should provide informative post next time.

I agree this must be change, i mean the system must be change and should add benefits to those who were given reputation with honest given reputation and not abuse the reputation button just to earn credits. Admin and moderators verify the added reputation to trace if the user received the reputation point deserved what he/she got.

Thanks to sprite1950 and ksridharprasad for eloquently explaining this to us. It does make sense! I think that's why I would never casually award another member a negative reputation. I think before we do that, we need to think long and hard and show a little empathy. I remember seeing someone's post that received 2 negative reputation points and not getting why people didn't like his/her opinion. My heart went out to them.

Moved to the correct forum

Users lose 1 forumcoin for each minus reputation point they receive. This is to help encourage better posts. Additional forumcoins may be removed for not following rules such as consistently posting in the incorrect forum. You need to start following the rules and posting in the correct section and not whatever section pays the most.
