Postby Streamguy69 » 29 Dec 2024, 21:31

Former US president Jimmy Carter has passed away at the age of 100. I remember when I was younger the first president that I knew was jimmy carter. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends

He survived cancer and ... when he died, he was still lucid. The brain neurons were still firing. Of all of the American presidents, he did the most after his presidency than any of the other ones. He actually found real work to do.

I remembered the recent election. He actually tried to vote with his frail body. That's admirable because, you know, he fights for his political beliefs even he's already weak and frail. He wants to contribute for one last time.

He has done with his life what I hope to do with my life: stay active doing good works until the day I die!

Someone summarized his life with a description I thought was very fitting:
"From peanut farmer to president to peacemaker."

Although truth be told, Jimmy Carter was always a peacemaker. <3

Yes, there are many things that one can learn from his life, admire and be inspired.
Not something that we often hear about or being told about most Head of States.

I saw it on the news and was surprised he made it to 100 years! I didn't know much about him but have been seeing snippets about his work on tv. He will be missed. MHSRIEP <3

First, they held the funeral in his home state of Georgia. Then they will hold a service in Washington, D.C.
