What Gifts Did You Get For Christmas?

Postby Spontaneo » 26 Dec 2024, 02:45

I know that Christmas is not all about gifts, but I personally like the look on a person's face when unwrapping a gift.

Did you get a gift that you had wanted?

Did you get a gift that was a total surprise?

Did you get a totally useful gift?

What did you receive?

My husband bought me a ticket (well tickets for both of us) to see a comedian we both like when he is in town in a few months time. It's nice to have something to look forward to.

My Mum and Dad gave me a big sketchbook to draw in, which will be useful.

My in-laws gave me a bottle of bourbon, which is much nicer than what I could have afforded myself. I like to sometimes have a bourbon in the evenings. Also a new journal to write in and a pen to go with it.

Ha! I was all ready to go. Got up early, packed the things I was planning to give, had a small breakfast, even washed the windshield on the car for clear vision on my drive. It was still too early to arrive so I settled down for a brief nap. Was awakened by a phone call. My brother was asking when I was about to arrive because they were about to settle in for dinner.

Daggone it! My nap went longer than planned and I missed the whole thing. Have no idea what I might have missed.

I received so much that I liked everything! My roommate and I exchanged gifts before we both took off separately for Christmas.

One gift I owe to FC, Santa Claus and Mrs Santa Claus, all of the reindeer and elves and the blessed Virgin Mary for interceding. I earned a FC Amazon gift card recently and was able to buy a pureed food cookbook with the gift card. I have been wanting this cookbook in like forever and could never find a paper copy.

You are probably sick of telling you but my next tooth is to be pulled on January 21st. I am only going to have 2 teeth left on top and really going to need pureed food. I cannot live on smoothies.

The cookbook is a blessing.

Thank you! Merry Christmas! I cannot wait for the cookbook to arrive in the mail!

‎The best gift you’ve ever received during the festive period

Postby eldavis » 07 Jan 2025, 13:31

For most of us, am pretty sure we got lots of gifts during the Christmas and new year celebrations. What was the best gift you got during the festive period? I did not get any gift this year, but maybe this year might be different.

This year it was just me and my husband. We cancelled Christmas because my brother-in-law was gravely ill in hospital. Luckily, he's just been discharged and is slowly recuperating at home. We did stuff our faces with all the naughty Christmas treats

Did any of you have Christmas dinner at a restaurant or did you stay at home?

I have 2 good friends that I spend holidays with. Their cooking usually consists of ham and turkey which I just politely excuse myself from and consume what I have packed. However, their desserts are outstanding which I cannot pass up!

I received a ton of nice gifts for Christmas!

A necklace with the Blessed Virgin Mary on it, tons of K-cup coffees and tons of flavored hot chocolates.

A package of Cherry Blossom toiletries.

Christmas is a season when we show love to one another by sharing gifts and so also showing affection to those we care about.
Personally i don’t think we should should show love only during this period but, since it is like this, my husband bought me a new phone accompanied with roses and cards i was so happy .

My roommate went to a Christmas party today and I know that Santa Claus, Mrs. Santa Claus, all of my fellow elves and all of the reindeer were thinking of myself! ;) ;)

My roommate received 2 gifts that she did not want. She gave the gifts to myself as I found the gifts a blessing!

A 7-pound canister of Swiss Miss hot chocolate for my homemade mochas and iced mochas!

A 1-pound bag of great northern beans for homemade vegetable soup!

I think that the Blessed Virgin Mary intereeded too!
