Just because your reputation is over 100 it doesn't mean you can post low quality post

Postby Netherrealmer » 26 Mar 2021, 19:37

Recently I am seeing a trend of people who posts at the BMW section who contributes nothing. They are being repetitive on discussions they like or they just comment without reading making their post contribute nothing. I am not asking for an essay, but make sure your post makes sense and adds something to the topic. I see some people here just want to milk their 10 post. Giving Negative reputation is not fun and I hate it so I make this warning so I wont be needing to do it. I see some people become complacent to do violations because their reputation is on the safe zone.

Its okay to make a 1 sentence reply if it adds something to the topic or continues the discussion. I am not as strict as the past mod but I have limits too. People you make money from this site, So it's your duty to deliver good post so the site stays alive.

I understand this. My biggest gripe is people not reading previous posts and asking the same questions over and over. If a topic is many pages long I don't think anyone would be expected to go through the whole thread but sometimes a question will be answered and then a couple of posts on someone will ask the same question again.

I think it's worth issuing a warning, for sure. I've also observed that lately, there's been more one-liners than I'm accustomed to here on FC. If you don't try to nip it in then, you run the risk of it spiralling out of control. People can rest on their laurels if not cautioned!

There are some users that always post on BMW section, no matter if their comments worth something or add some more information to the topic. Sometimes the comments are exactly the same, they only change the way they say it.
Hope this warning will reach those people and make them understand that they are spamming Forum Coin with their comments.

If an article has 9 pages post or 17 pages post then it will be hard to read all posts before replying so most of users are just reading few last posts and reply by quoting a random post.

Yes I think because a lot of the old threads just have people replying over and over. I think we need to make some new threads to get new topics in there. I will try to make some.

I understand if its their first time to post on that thread but the person I talk about goes there everyday and keep on whining about country tiers. A professional victim.

Comments that do not contribute anything to the thread should be deleted. Same question is asked by different users any number of times and the user goes on giving the same reply, for example.

I do agree that if the post has too many pages, it is simply impossible to read all the comments from first page to the end. Normally people will read the last page and continue to comment. However 1 sentence reply is kind of silly. Unless has informative answer

Rather, than whine they should look for more opportunities. Clearly we understand the opportunities are few for us third tear counties but there are countless opportunities that you haven't ventured into.
Research and take risks otherwise you will just whine and stagnate.

Whether an experienced or a newcomer, low quality posts are a big no.
Perhaps some folks could be advised once or twice about why doing so is not good.

Seems like it is an on going issue maybe it's time that the admin looks into it and checks the mistakes and the threads that are being repeated over and over again then discuss the way forward. this way people will find other ways to improve their responses on threads or come up with new ones.

I think some people are not able to convey the things that they want to. Maybe they chooses wrong words which makes it looks not worthy. But some people are good at choosing right words and that what makes it look good. And if people are posting low quality data even after they can right a good one then they are like leaches sucking money by writing posts.

I notice lately there are people who post the same things over and over and get away with it. I would rather leave a site than keep posting the same old tripe just because there was nothing left I could reply to.

If I see one more thread like this, Urghh!
Netherrealmer wrote:I see some people become complacent to do violations because their reputation is on the safe zone.

What's the safe zone for reputation?

Netherrealmer wrote:Giving Negative reputation is not fun and I hate it so I make this warning so I wont be needing to do it.

It's not the first time you're making this same warning so obviously the approach isn't working. In fact I've come across multiple threads like this on the forum. Some were created long before I even became a member here. And you know what is repetitive? The responses on said threads. Everyone comes in and talk the same thing about bad quality and then what? Not long down the road a similar thread is created and similar comments are made because the previous threads didn't accomplish the mission.

Netherrealmer wrote:Recently I am seeing a trend of people who posts at the BMW section who contributes nothing. They are being repetitive on discussions they like or they just comment without reading making their post contribute nothing.

Suggestion: Delete those posts - no post equals no money. Send PM to those individuals that such contributions are not up to standard and will not be tolerated. Maybe they'll stop or maybe they'll curse you out. In any case, they were personally notified and by the response you'll get an idea of the next step to take.

nela13 wrote:Hope this warning will reach those people and make them understand that they are spamming Forum Coin with their comments.

That's why I suggested (to OP) above that the specific individuals be personally notified. Chances are each member believes he is giving good quality and this doesn't apply to him.

That's why I like you. Never a dull moment with Lady Sprite. LOL @ "old tripe"

This is something we already do, it is done in the background so most members will not see it happening. Obviously we don't catch every low quality post and members can help with that by reporting them.

If the reputation is above 100, it doesn't give a license to post low quality posts. Friends can do favor and keep giving reputation points. So reputation points don't certify a person to be quality contributors. Some people follow the rule of scratching each other's back.
If one continues with low quality posts, the negative reputation points can bring the overall score down

People have reported me when I see them doing the same. I will also report now. It goes both ways and the sword is sharp on both ends. I have not used my sword on here but it's time. The same people reporting me are doing repeat posts. Now I changed the way I post, but I will be reporting now

Great concern there and am sure a lot of people who want to remain relevant have taken a leaf on how the behavior will be from now onwards. Having an engaging conversation is very much worthwhile than just wanting to make free points.
