I would like to see this function here, recieving forum coins if someone replies to your thread, that will also encourage people to post more topics, plus only deserving threads will get the value.

Thanks for the suggestion shamzblueworld. I would consider running some kind of contest for the most popular topics and giving ForumCoin prizes to the members who requested those topics. That would have the same results as your suggestion, in other words members would still be rewarded for starting popular topics.

but wouldn't that just pay winners? Not fair to all who created good topics, because in such contests mostly winners just get lucky and win. My point was, everyone should be rewarded for their effort accordingly and deservingly. As good threads for forums are usualy those which gets more replies.

Large topics don't always equal good or quality topics. Topics like "How many posts does your forum have" (and other similar type ones, Hello/goodbye type topics like on FP, Post milestone topics, "happy birthday" topics all generate alot of replies but in reality they offer very little quality. I can't think of a forum here where it would be possible for users to earn from getting replies from posts/topics where the quality is always high and where users can't create low quality topics to generate a large number of replies.

I personally don't think rewarding users for replies in their topics would work. It will just encourage users to try and post topics that will generate high number of replies no matter if it is good quality or not.

That is the exact reason I mentioned that it should be in specific forums, not all.
