If another user replies after your last post, you can instantly post again without it merging no matter how much time has passed since your last post.

Normally, the extra entry of that kind of duplicated post is deleted during normal administrative review. It appears you came back and entered the identical answer 5 1/2 hours later, but since no one posted anything between the first and second post, it was automatically merged into a single entry. You did not receive any compensation for the added content.
The situation you are describing is different. Most likely it is because you posted something and then attempted to contribute another post, even on another topic, within a few seconds. That is the kind of too brief gap that triggers that kind of message. It is simply a program documentation delay more than anything else. You should probably wait at least a minute between posts to avoid that particular message and disruption.

Just to confirm, this is due to the forums "Flood Interval". It means that if you as a user tries to post a second post within 15 seconds of your last post (even if it was in another topic) it will be generate this error. This is to prevent a malicious person setting up an account and then using an automated script to post hundreds of posts a minute. This could cause major issues such as high CPU usage or even using all our DB storage space. This flood interval means a user can post the maximum of 4 posts a minute making this kind of attack or abuse difficult.bestwriter wrote:I got the following message while I was active a few hours ago and I am really confused.
