This contest is a little different. Rather than offering one prize for a single winner, the prize is offered for each completed entry per instructions. Must follow instructions for payment.

Members have come and gone over the years as interests evolve. Formerly active members are no longer around and we need fresh members to keep the site active. All sites always need new members to remain active. The best source for new members is by referral from active members.

Most members don't want to ask friends to check it out because friends don't often share your personal interests. Those that have asked friends to register usually end up just getting them to participate long enough to earn a referral fee, but very few ever stay for long. Asking friends is just not working. In most cases, friends do not share your personal interests and won't stay active. We need new members who will remain active, not those who will help you earn a referral fee with minimum effort.

To be successful, you need to find people you do not know who do share your interests. The best way to do that is to find sites that talk about similar topics that allow ads. Post as many ads as you can without spamming sites that do not allow them.

Here is the challenge. Follow instructions exactly to earn a quick 10 FC for each entry.

Step 1:

Consider ForumCoin as a whole, or pick a specific forum category to promote:
CGT - Computers, Gaming & Technology
Webmaster Questions, Discussion & News
Business, Money & Wealth - BMW Forum
Articles & Tutorials

Step 2:

Write a brief ad to promote the essence of what excites you about ForumCoin, or your chosen topic section. Write separate ads about the site, or each section you want to promote.

The title line needs to be brief. Just enough to attract attention with less than 50 letters and spaces.
Line 1 of your ad content should clearly state the best feature you want to promote.
Lines 2 and 3 should state why someone who shares similar interests should take a look.
Line 4 should just be your referral link.

You can find your own referral link by clicking on your “user control panel” link at the upper right area of any page. Look at the links in the top row. The far right is labeled “referrals”. Your personal link is displayed on that page.

Step 3:

Go out and find sites that discuss similar topics on this site, or in the forum section you chose to promote that will allow ads.

Step 4:

Post your ad.

Step 5:

Come back to this topic and post the link to where your ad is displayed.

Step 6:

Rinse and repeat as often as you can.

Long term added revenue:

If your ads are successfully placed, you should begin to see referrals showing up. The more ads you post, the more referrals you should receive. Each successful referral will earn you added revenue and a successful ad will draw in multiple referrals with no added effort. See the FAQ section for details on referral revenue.

So, does that mean that if we just distributed our referral links without having any lines about the forum or it's sections, then the referral that I invited will not be credited to my FC balance? Just wondering...

This contest is asking members to try a different way to gain referral credits. Most of the referrals that have been coming in are a result of members asking friends to join and quite bluntly, it does not work well at all.

Sure, friends will sign up. Sure, friends will make a minimal effort to at least quality as a referral for you. If they do that, you get your referral payment, but it is basically stealing from the site. Barely one out of 100 friend referrals ever go beyond even 30 posts, if that many. Problem is most of those friends do nothing more than the minimum and just leave with no further activity. We had one member who did that so often he was permanently banned from any more referral activity.

Very few friends ever share the same interests. They might be willing to help you get a few referral credits just because they are friends, but they are not helping the site. We don't need those kinds of members. We need members who will stick around and keep the site active, not leaches who drain funds away with no contribution to the site.

This contest is quite specifically NOT ASKING YOU TO ASK FRIENDS. This is asking you to write specific ads, promoting either the site itself, or specific sections of the site, and find places you can post such ads to find people YOU DO NOT KNOW who SHARE YOUR INTERESTS.

As you can see by the lack of response to this challenge, it is a new concept that no one seems willing to try, even though I have made an extra offer out of my own earnings just to try it. Even if you don't get referrals you still earn something to try this approach.

I got it. I am just a little confused about the content of our referral invites. So it is okay if we just PM our referral links to them? Of course, including the promotion of the forum and it's sections.

The ForumCoin "PM" system is for Personal Messages from one member to another. It is most often used to respond to ad offers. If someone asks for a referral link, it is OK to send it by PM, but it is NOT OK to send referral links that have not been asked for. That would be using the PM system to spam other members and is quite specifically prohibited. By the way, you must contribute a minimum of 20 posts to the site before you can use the pm system. The delay is part of the spam protection system.

The FC pm system would not be used to promote ForumCoin to existing members, but if you want to share referral links to other sites with ForumCoin members, you are allowed to use any of the FC advertising offers.
