Either the content on ForumCoin is getting worse by the day, or most members are just plain stingy when it comes to giving out reputation points.
There have been 2122 new posts entered in the last 7 days. There have been a grand total of just 92 reputation points given out for the entire week. Dividing the 92 reputation points by the 2122 posts comes out to a 4.34% average reputation score for the entire community. That is the lowest I have seen recording these stats since January 2018.
When I began recording these numbers in January 2018, the overall average for all members was just over 11.5% as the standard. The average scores have been falling ever since then.
For the last several months, the site average has been dropping to barely over 9% and is now about to drop to the 8% range.
Giving out reputation points is your opportunity to express your opinion of the quality of the content you read as you browse the content on this site. Although it is not a precise measure of quality, these resulting scores are an expression of the combined opinion of the quality of the content for each member. It becomes a quality control guideline. A score below the site average tells members they need to do better. Nearly 70% of all members are posting below average quality content based on the collective opinion of the entire community and in most cases, those scores continue to fall for everyone.
When you post content to this site, do your very best to post high quality content. Although length is not necessarily an indicator of quality, your posts need to be long enough to fully explain what you are saying. In addition, you need to include added information that will further educate future readers on the topic. Anything less is junk content.
When you see high quality content, please make a point of giving it a positive reputation point. Your opinion matters. You are limited to giving out 5 reputation points per visit. Please use them, but don't waste them.
I use the reputation scores to determine awards for improved quality content. It is becoming very rare for anyone to qualify. The reason scores improve is that those who take the time to post quality content rely on others to give out reputation points on their efforts, yet very few scores rise at all because most members are just too stingy to give them out.
So … does the content you read on ForumCoin really stink, or are you just plain stingy?
