How Long Can One Remain Inactive On This Site Before He/She Is Removed?

Postby A K Rao » 01 Aug 2018, 17:58

While going through some discussions pertaining to inactive members, I have come across the fact that inactive members are normally removed, if they stay inactive for about an year or so.

While referring the list of members I have come across quite a good number of members who have less than 10 posts on the site.

In addition to that I have noticed that some members are inactive for a long period of time . Like, I have seen members who have joined in the year 2013.

Will some one tell me how long one can actually remaain inactive before he/she is removed from the site? Thanks!

I don't know as they remove people who have been inactive for a long time. You can still visit those user's posts too. I am sure there are lots of people who have left for one reason or another. Do you plan on leaving us for a long time and that is why you want to know?

After spending the last several months studying statistical details about this site, I have never seen any evidence of members being removed due to inactivity.

There is an extensive list of members who have been banned for various reasons, but even they remain listed. The only evidence of their ban is that there is a strike through their user name and the word banned is added under their name. Even their old content remains, other than posts that violate site rules.

As I have watched the list of members who have logged in at the bottom of the home page, I have noted hundreds of older inactive members visit the site without ever posting any added content. I have also noted hundreds of older members who have been inactive for months or even years suddenly become active again. There are over 1800 members listed who have never posted any content at all, yet their names remain on the member roster. I have even witnessed members who never posted any content when they originally joined, but then come back much later and begin to post content.

Based on my own observations, no one is simply removed for inactivity. Other than being banned, any one of them could come back and post added content at any time.

Thanks a lot for the detailed information dear friend! I have posted this discussion after coming across a discussion where the members were talking if one stays inactive for one year his account gets deleted! :D

This is correct. No one is ever removed once they are registered. This allows people to register and decide to come back and post later. ForumCoins are, likewise, not removed for inactivity!

A perfect example showed up today. A member who joined the site in 2015 and only stayed 15 days at that time. There have been sporadic posts months apart in the meantime, but no regular daily activity. That member is now active again, at least for a time.

I abandoned this site for 3 years and I was never banned. They didn't put my balance in zero neither.
