Expected Downtime - Saturday 2nd July

Postby CyberFreak » 30 Jun 2016, 17:02

Hello,

Below is an email from my host regarding upgrades taking place in the next 48 hours or so. This will result in around 3 hours downtime of Forumcoin.com. It does mean that if you see forum coin is down, do not panic! We will be back online within a few hours. I hope you can do without us for a short while

Dear Hostwinds Family Member,

Please be informed that Hostwinds will be performing maintenance and upgrades on the Power Drops, as well as the network switches servicing your equipment. This maintenance will result in downtime for your equipment referenced below. This maintenance will take place during the timeframe outlined below. The maintenance will be done in two parts, to reduce overall downtime, so your equipment will either go down at approximately 12:01 AM CST, or at approximately 3:30 AM CST. The total downtime is not expected to exceed 3 hours.

Total Expected Downtime (2-3 Hours)

Affected Server: server.linkcove.com

Maintenance Start Time: Saturday July 2nd at 12:01 AM CST

Maintenance End Time: Saturday July 2nd at 7:01 AM CST

Once the Maintenance has been completed you will have the following benefits added to your service.

Switch Network Capacity Increased to 40Gbps

Switch Upgraded To Latest Model Juniper EX Series, Reducing Latency, and increasing capacity

It's WORTH IT!
Still plenty of time to get my fix in for that day.

Working on a New Side-Hustle

Since age is no longer creeping up on me, but rushing in like an NFL ball carrier on 4th down from the 1 yard line. it's very simple.

I am glad I have read this, so I won't be wondering why FC is down. I have not experience any downtime for FC. Thanks for informing us. :)

As long as it is only a few hours then I think I can survive. I will make sure to check it often so that I will still be able to post on that day. Thanks for giving us a heads up and looking forward to the new upgrades.

I think it was already, because I was not able to join FC this morning and I wondered why. Now it's working and I am now aware too why it happened the downtime. :)

This should be completed now. We were down for just over an hour and everything is back up and working like it should. It shouldn't have caused much inconvenience for any members thankfully.

I suppose it might be worthwhile sharing our Uptime Status report just incase any geeks users (who are FC fanatics  ) wish to bookmark it incase you can't access the site and wonder if it is down for everyone and for how long it has been down.

Oh thanks that I saw this for it will not lead me wondering what had happened to this site, it will make me nervous for sure. A site I am always in had a server migration as well and good thing it is up and running at this moment.

Hopefully this will result in a faster experience browsing the forum, not that it was slow before. XD I missed the downtime as well, so that's neat.
