Many users here already have friends here from other sites or friends they created here.

Wow, I just stumbled across this thread! I guess because I don't tend to write articles, I overlooked it. I have to say 300 views seems pretty fair to me. I've written for many sites where you had to get A LOT more views for a few pennies. The fact that the views can come from anywhere is a huge bonus too.

I agree with you, it is not easy to get 300 views, unless Facebook and Twitter followers are in hundreds.

They are manually issued by Fergal and Fergal hasn't been online for a few days. If the PM is still in your "Not yet read" PM folder then it hasn't been read yet because either he hasn't been online since you sent it or he hasn't got to your PM yet in his list of message.

If you generate 20 replies, the 300 views is not a problem as you will either be very close to the 300 views or even past it. You can easily inflate your topics views by sharing on social networks, traffic exchanges, Reddit, other forums, just waiting for it to naturally increase as users/bots/guests view it over time/ promoting it in your signature. They are many methods that could be deemed as blackhat methods so I won't promote them but really we are not going to do anything if you use these methods to inflate your topic view counts.

My bad, I thought it was automatic. I'll wait.

* * Sorry. Can't help but laugh. The thought popped into my head: Wonder how many views this discussion is getting?

Well done on posting such a popular article. That payment has been sent now, apologies for the short delay, I had a family wedding this weekend and hence didn't get online for a few days.
