Divide reputation points by the total number of posts and read the results as a percentage.

For example, say you have 1000 posts and 28 reputation points.
Divide the 28 by the 1000 and the results come up as 0.028.
Multiply that result by 100 to read 2.8% as a percentage.

(That would be a terrible reputation point score)

With 1000 posts, you would need to have at least 100 reputation points just to be average.
100 / 1000 = 0.1
0.1 x 100 = 10%

32 members who have posted content in the last 30 days have scores well above the site average.
75 members who have posted content in the last 30 days have scores well below the site average, which was the reason I made this offer.

Ah well. I must have been asleep at the wheel. This was supposed to have been posted in the FC achievements topic. Sorry about that.

You need one more correction to make in this post OldGuy, my friend- it should be 9 months and not 9 days which took me by surprise for so many posts in such a short time.

Nope ... It was indeed 100 posts in 9 days (and is already 1641 posts in 87 days.)

You're probably mixing up the day with the month. He usually puts the month first. I think it's reading that the member joined on June 1st and reached 100 posts on June 9th. I'm not sure if you were reading it as January instead of June but it still wouldn't reach 9 months yet, lol. Hey, I'm sleeping so maybe I'm not getting it either. :)

I did look. Quite specifically. Member Joined on June 1. Counting that day June 9th is 9 days later. 100 posts in 9 days is not that unusual. That is barely 11 posts per day on average and many members go way beyond that average. It is a non issue.

I realize that the format used by ForumCoin reverses the day and month, but that is not the standard used in the US, nor is it the standard with automatic date format in any US computer I have ever used, but I have only been using computers since 1981. If you look at forms you fill in on many sites that ask for the date, it will ask for Month - Day - year: mm dd yyyy or other similar abbreviation to specify that format.

When I enter just 6/1 in my spreadsheet program, the cell is automatically filled in with 06/01/19 and that means June 1st, 2019. Even when speaking in the US, the standard answer you would hear anyone say to the question "what is today?" is "today is August 31st". You just don't hear, "Today is the 31st day of August." The US conversational custom is to use the shortest format available which further clarifies the issue.

Other than this site or military format, I personally have not encountered the reverse of putting the day before the month, but I suppose standards can change from country to country.

As I further clarified, the same member has only been a member for a total of just 87 days even now and has gone way beyond the expected averages with volume of content in such a brief period.

This entire conversation does not fit the narrative of this topic. If you have further questions, please contact me by pm rather than clutter up this topic with a non related issue.

I wish members will have more complex choice on their decisions. I see people kept bumping generic survey stype discussions that are repetitive and bury ones with potentials.

Thanks a lot OldGuy! Hadn't even noticed. I don't tend to post too often, so I hope it usually is at least decent quality.

Re: ForumCoin Awards Offer For Improving Quality Content

Postby OldGuy » 21 Nov 2019, 11:06

There was a recent announcement about a content quality review – posts that add quality content vs posts that were merely for the sake of posting something to earn revenue.

As the review has progressed a group of members was discovered who are trading positive reputation points even on very low quality content in an apparent effort to improve their reputation points and score.

This post is written to that specific group.

This particular topic and offer are the only place on this site where members are awarded for added positive reputation points and an improvement in your reputation score. Other than this topic and offer, your reputation points and related score are only a representation of the collected opinion from the rest of the community of the quality of your content.

Positive reputation points have no cash value. You cannot buy, sell or trade reputation points for any added value. They are only an expressed opinion from other members about the quality of your posted content. Reputation points are not an accurate gauge of quality. At best, they are only a guide to give you some idea of how you are doing. They do not affect your earnings in any way.

When I review content to make the awards on this offer, I review the posts and reputation points given to make sure quality of your content improves along with your improved reputation point score. Your artificially improved scores make you all ineligible for any future award from this offer. Maybe you did not realize it is all irreversibly documented.

To those involved in this reputation point trading game: I know who you are. I hope you see this. Your own actions have slammed the door on this offer to each of you. Those who attempt to cheat the system are the ultimate losers. You are each no longer eligible for any award from this offer. Congratulations for a dunce award to each of you.

I am happy to hear there will be a pay rate increase if we make good posts in the future. But when is the new system going to be in place. And if we made very good posts we will get rewards even if they were in the past? I can write some good stuff, and if the rates are up I am even more motivated.
I think this will make the forum better for writers and readers alike.
