If someone likes the quality of your comment then they will give you 1 reputation point but If your comment is not of good quality or too short and does not contribute to the thread, then you will be given a negative reputation point which deducts 1 forum coin from your earnings

I liked your answer. It is well explained. I only have doubts about the last part ... I do not know if it's removed a Forum coin ... I do not think so but I'll ask. Or maybe someone else knows the answer ...

The ksridharprasad is a very educated person and an excellent participant here in the Forum Coin. That's why he has so many positive reputation points. Your decision to thank is very polite. I really liked your post ... :)

I do not know what do you mean by reputation. Anyways, among my friends and relatives I have a reputation of speaking the truth and not hiding anything. Also I use to help people in small ways. So many come to me to get help and so, I have a reputation of helping lady too.

That was a clear explanation from Vathsala. But she has mentioned that one reputation point adds one one forum coin. So far I haven't noticed the addition of any coins to me for reputation. could anybody confirm that?

Basically, it means the quality of your post. So a plus reputation point means that you posted a good quality post. A minus peputation point means that you posted a low quality post.

But please don't take this as a professional opinion. Because those reputation points can be given by anyone and they might have their own reasons to do that. So there is a fair chance that a reputation point has nothing to do with the quality of your post.

Hi Allius

Thank you so much for liking my post . Thanking someone is nothing but showing the gratitude for their encouragement and morale boost by giving a positive reputation . It encourages me to post more and more quality and helpful post
Coming to the point, Yesterday i have seen in one profile about the removal of 1 FC for the negative reputations . Then only i came to know about it . All these days i also do not know about it. Anyway i will check that profile once again and revert back to you .

Thanks for the explanation, vathsala. I too didn't know that you could have points subtracted because of "poor quality" commenting! So who can do this, just anybody who's a member here or is it just admin who can deduct points? It's made me a little nervous, but I guess it's good to know :)

yes Angie , we will loose 1 FC per negative reputation. This decision is not to scare you but make u to post quality posts in future and to improve the quality of this forum , the administration has taken this decision and they only have powers to implement this decision and deduct the money for the low quality posts

Hello!
That's exactly what you said :)
The quality of the posts is very important. We talked a lot about it ... no need to write several paragraphs, but it is important to develop the ideas and add something new to the discussion.
Here, it is important to discuss and debate ideas. It will make us all learn new things ... and we are still paid for it ... ;)

I get a warm feeling every time I receive a reputation point because it means someone has read my post and thought it was worth something. We all need to feel valued in life even in small ways and I think it gives people a sense of belonging to this little community. :D

I completely agree with you! But you are a great participant in this forum. I absolutley love your posts (I read them almost all)... and you are very polite. I don't believe that you will win a negative point of reputation, my friend! ;)

You know what guys, everytime I logged in in here and the reputation pops up that I have new reputation points, I feel so happy. But when I am deducted because of my post quality content I feel sadden.haha. I also noticed that if you tried to joined using multiple accounts you will be banned in here because the Admin will deduct 50 reputation coins to you. 8-)

I don't think I could deduct coins/points from others. I can award them but I would just not award to posts I didn't find special enough

Yesterday I saw two negative reputations on someone's answer, and I was quite taken aback because I honestly thought they gave a good answer! I sure hope it wasn't from a bad place like maybe doing it out of spite. Are these contestable, or does anything go? I'd hate to do that to someone else.

I also didn't know that. Thanks for the info.

ksridharprasad said that he thanks everyone who give him a reputation point. How do you reply to a reputation point? Unless is by sending a PM or saying thanks in the topic i dont see how. Would be nice if you can reply to a reputation point , i appreciate the reputation points that are given to me even if sometimes i dont think i really deserved them
