Possibly, if you've already seen (and responded to some of) all the other posts created here.
What I do: I look through (and respond to some of) all the posts I originated (if they have any new responses) then do one new OP, then go back to opening (and responding to some of) the new responses to threads I wrote & joined---trying to limit my personal OPs to 'only one per every several responses I do (responses to others' responses on my OPs first, then responses to others' responses to my responses on others' OPs ...
(or should I have thrown a few "replies" in there?
Let's see ...)
The wordroot of "Response" means "to Pledge Back (see Re-, Sponsor)"---also the root of "Responses, Responsive, Respond, Responds, Responded, Responding, Correspond, Corresponds, Corresponded, Corresponding, Correspondence, Correspondent, Correspondents, Responder, Responders, Responsively."
The wordroot of "Reply" means "to Fold (or Plait) Back or -Again"---root of "Replied, Replying" ... my reference mentions the no-longer-used "Replicable & Replicability" (meaning "which may be replied to" as well as "which may be duplicated or repeated experimentally").
The difference? I think it's similar to the difference between "Explain & Answer" (respectively ... you 'Respond' with 'explanation,' you 'Reply' with one of the common 'answers');
others might think otherwise. What do you think?
