Sudden drop in Active Users from India: coincidence or a pattern

Postby ptrikha21 » 24 May 2025, 09:39

Since last month or so, I have seen a pattern here on FC.
I have seen a sudden drop in the number of active users from India.
I wonder if it is because of
    Geo Political reasons
    People have switched sites suddenly
Folks are moving to AI/ Crypto Apps for multiple reasons
    Random reasons

One might say that one always has a choice, but I wonder if in such a large population, people are preferring watching Instagram reels, YT Shorts and similar stuff on social media rather than such sites, don't they think that they are missing on something.

Anyways, it is their choice but yes it is something strange for me.

Some of the Indian members have multiple accounts and they got banned.I do see Indians doing a lot of YouTube Shorts videos because it's easier now with AI. They don't need to be ashamed of their accent anymore.

May be that could be a reason. Yet not all are Video savvy or good at holding camera.
Let us see if the number of Indian users increase again.

Could be a mix of stuff-exams, new apps, or just people spending more time on short videos like Reels or Shorts. I think many just got pulled into quicker content. It might pick back up again, hard to say.

Yes, it could be a combination of factors.
One can have a personal opinion but in my opinion, too much addiction to Reels and Shorts is not good.
Unfortunately, many in India are having this addiction and it increases impatience.

Maybe the Indians are busy offline or have found something that keeps them busy on other websites. By the way all Indians are not having multiple accounts as someone mentioned here or they got boared with similar topics and similar replies.

The drop in site activity is not limited to members from India. Members join, participate and leave all the time. Some stay a long time and some only stay for a brief period.

There has been a gradual slide in activity for the past several years. It is notable from all corners of the globe. Out of the total 7113 recorded membership as of this moment, only 164 of them for the entire life of ForumCoin actually have gone on to contribute more than 1000 posts but only 35 of them have remained active in recent months. That portion of the membership alone has produced 77% of all site content for the entire history of the site.

The biggest issue is that when one of those high volume members moves on to other interests, they leave a hole in our site activity. Yes, new members come and go but we have not been replacing any high volume member, particularly because no one is actively working on referrals. The growing shortage of high volume members has become noticeable in every statistical view of the site.

It is not just Indian members. If you want to help fill these notable gaps in site activity, start working on bringing in new members who will produce new content as they each share their own words of wisdom.

Work on your referrals if you want to help. Be sure to promote the idea of advertising their own products and services for a greater opportunity for earnings and that the payment per post is more just a token of appreciation for their contributions to site content to attract attention. The key is high quality content is primarily intended to attract guests to view the member ads.

Click on your "User Control Panel"
Click on the "referrals" tab
That is where you can find your personal referral code to use in all your promotions.

It is an important part of your site participation. We are seeing the results of no one actively pursuing referrals.

I was away for my surgery and post operative care. As I am recovering, I am getting back to my normal routine slowly and to online sites too.
It is the time of summer vacation in many parts of the country. Maybe people are busy travelling with their family.

Summer vacation could be a reason but some of the folks sounded like students or unmarried people and now they are not active.
That set me wondering.

It's not only with this forum. I have seen the activity level dropping down on all the sites. And it's not only with indyausers but with users from all countries. Yes, it's concerning. Let's hope that it is a temporary phase.

Referrals are hard to come by. Plus finding serious referrals are even harder.
Still will give a try.
