Obonsville promotion topic!
It is a true honor to have your attention for a few moments. In the following paragraphs, we will share with you several compelling reasons to join our wonderful community today! :3
Founded on June 24, 2016, Obonsville is a hybrid community, and we want you! Yes, you! You're a twenty-first century internet user who is multifaceted, dynamic, and talented. You have the capacity to be friendly, kind, productive, scholarly, and perhaps a little bit silly as well. Obonsville is the perfect community to help you give away all of those gifts! Why is Obonsville the perfect community for you to be all of these things and more? We have several reasons!
First and foremost, we are a community of
many facets. In other words, we are choosing to focus on a number of different topics rather than just one or two so that everyone can find many enjoyable discussions and projects in our community. Some of the topics that we are choosing to include are
general discussion,
gaming,
hobbies,
entertainment,
promotion,
intellectual discussion,
debate, and more! We plan to have team members dedicated to developing every facet of the forum so that we really have many excellent mini-communities wrapped up into one loving, compassionate, easygoing super-community. <3
In addition to being a multifaceted community in terms of topics, we are also taking a
"2016 approach" to running a community. It is no secret that forums are on the decline in many ways. That being said, forums still have numerous advantages over other forms of communication. Many social media sites require you to divulge your true identity, something that will undoubtedly make you reluctant to use those social media sites for in-depth communication with people outside your "real life" circle. Forums are different because you can divulge nothing at all about your "real life" at all, allowing you more latitude to communicate with people you otherwise would never have met! How magical! <3 However, the reality is that most forums cannot survive in 2016. We at Obonsville believe that we have found a way around this!
Our plan is to
spread our community over several different types of media like
video games,
Facebook,
YouTube,
Twitter,
Twitch,
Discord,
Skype, etc. to attract numerous types of users into our community who may never have heard of forums before! The forum will act as our headquarters, but the community will extend itself to other places as well. We have high hopes for this approach, and we hope that it will spread the word about how truly amazing forums are! :3
Another compelling reason to join our community is that we are
easygoing and lenient, yet friendly and sensitive. The rules of our community are minimalistic and give our members a generous amount of latitude. Do you want to be silly and post something funny or share your random thoughts? By all means, go ahead! Would you prefer to have some very serious intellectual discussions? You're more than welcome to do that as well! The golden rule is that we live and let live. As long as our users feel a sense of belonging and enjoy themselves, we are happy. After all, aren't those things why we use forums in the first place?
If all of that hasn't convinced you to join, let us point out that we also plan to be
completely transparent. There are no private forums on Obonsville; all posts are out in the open so that every user can see them. You will have input on every single decision in our community. We want you to feel that you have a voice and that you matter, because you do!
If you do not feel compelled to join after reading all of the wonderful things we have shared with you in the paragraphs above, remember that you are welcome to give us feedback.
