I am also in linkedin joined last year but now not active there as i have joined with some purpose and now i wish to cancel my membership there but do not know how to cancel it so stopped visiting that site since many months so that automatically they will delete my name

Thanks for your reply vathsala. I really quite like LinkedIn, it's a great way to keep in touch with business and work contacts. There is also some very inspiring and informative articles posted there on a regular basis. However, I have noticed others who like you have become more disappointed with and and spending less time on it. What's enjoyed by one person, isn't necessarily the best network for someone else.

It seems to be quite normal nowadays, the number of people who have a "job for life" has declined. It also depends on the industry, for example it seems to me that people who work in IT seem to change jobs quite frequently.

Yes, as Fergal said, it's quite normal these days. Forget 3-5 years, a lot of them are changing job every 1-2 years
