Very Right! Most people start with one and grow from there.

I've never had referrals as I don't really know anyone who likes doing the kind of online thing that I do. It's never stopped me though. Referrals don't always click for long anway.

You don't necessarily need to know anyone to get them as a referral (although it does help). Just being willing to talk about what you do (like we do here) is often enough to stimulate interest.
