What will happen to EA now that the Saudi Prince has purchased it?

Postby Netherrealmer » 02 Oct 2025, 15:48

The Crown Prince of Saudi purchased SNK and, you know, he revives many games of the company SNK. That's why we are having a new Fatal Fury game and a Samurai Shodown game because of the Saudi prince. But there is another Saudi prince who just purchased EA. EA usually make the sports games like NBA and some football games as well. But aside from sports games, EA is also known for making games that gives the players gender of choice of the main character. For example, Mass Effect and Sims. And these games let players choose the gender of the character and even the sexuality of the character. Now that the Saudi prince owns this game company, are these games gonna be censored? Mass Effect and Sims games have sex on it and Saudi is a conservative country. I have fears that those games will be censored.

Before Saudi Purchased SNK, here is the character Mai Shiranui on her Bouncy Glory.

I have a feeling that many of the games of EA will experience a lot of censorship now it's owned by a Saudi prince. I hope it won't get censored but, you know, if a tech-simple video game character like mine got censored, they might censor the other games of EA as well. And I don't like this censorship thing.

Your concerns are understandable, especially considering the cultural differences and the content of the games. But remember, a large company like EA focuses more on the global market, so they try to preserve creative freedom. Any change will require a balance of business and ethics.
