Last time my colleague had told me that web development is a thriving market so I might have the great opportunity having the web development skill as a foundation to land some jobs, but I'd like to take into consideration if I would love to tackle any programming job that comes my way because, I know this will help me in the near future, and knowing that a strong knowledge in these basics language will save me from unnecessary debugging and wastage of time in doing my real work.

You have to talk with your friends or people you know who are already in the Web Development field.
Plus whether you would also be keen for Mobile Development.
You can have skills in C##, Angular, Java, PHP, Java or VB Script.
Selenium is more favored by those who are into Web Applications' Testing.
Earlier there was ASP. Net option as well but I am not sure how much is that still valid now.
