Why a Mortal Kombat vs Street Fighter game will never work

Postby Netherrealmer » 22 Jun 2020, 12:16

Street fighter had been in multiple crossovers before with the past like X-men vs Street Fighter, Street Fighter X Tekken,Capcom vs SNK and Marvel vs Capcom. One of the most requested crossover for Street fighter though is a Mortal Kombat vs Street Fighter because they are the founders of the fighting game genre.

Well it will never happen. Ed Boon offered Capcom and also the creator of Street Fighter Yoshinori Ono multiple times to make Mortal Kombat vs Street fighter happen but they declined.

Street Fighter is PG fighting game made to appeal to teens and kids.

Mortal Kombat is an M-rated adult fighting game with lots of over the top gore, blood and violence.

Capcom don't want their child friendly characters like Ryu or Chun-li getting dismembered and get killed brutally or kill vice versa.

Also many Street Fighter characters are underage because in Japan, underage superheroes are trendy because that's what kids like.

Child deaths can get a game banned in the west. All Mortal Kombat characters are adults for a reason.

Since Ed Boon can't get a Mortal Kombat vs Street fighter game, He tried to get at least some street fighter villains as guest characters for Mortal Kombat. Yoshinori Ono is open to the idea but the Capcom board said no, so He settled for Arnold Schwarzenegger as Terminator as guest character which sounds like a better option anyway.

They all have great graphics and characters but we need to scrutinize them because of the impact they have on children. Their minds are developing and we need to make sure they are not affected by the things around them or the games they partake in. They have a huge effect on their brains making them have nightmares and affect the performance of the child in general.

Parents should get involved when their children are purchasing the games online or at the stores. They should also have age restrictions or no purchasing the games without the consent of an adult.

No offense toots but Street Fighter give me great rolemodels as a kid because they inspire me to pursue Martial arts. It is a PG game and not an adult game.

Mortal Kombat is an adult game but I wont consider it as a bad influence neither. No one murdered somebody from playing Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat players are the most chill people I ever met.

Video Games doesn't cause violence. Abusive families and religious extremist causes violence
