Viruses on Microworker sites.

Postby chekdn » 19 Oct 2017, 00:00

I know there is a similar topic like this, but I don't want to derail the topic, so I had to open this one.

We have been working and struggling to earn online. Take picoworkers or microworkers and the likes, for example; the kind of tasks they do have sometimes are task that you have to sign up on a particular site. Infact, you keep signing up on sites here and there almost daily?

Now, is it possible that some of this site may not be safe for us or perhaps we may have infected our device or pc without knowing?

Question: What are the possible signs/symptoms to note if our device or pc is infected?

Note: I understand that anti-virus is of help but I want more suggestions.

I wrote an article here: viewtopic.php?f=67&p=333014#p333014

Apart from keeping all the software on your computer up-to-date, installing an antivirus and firewall and being "smart": 1 pro tip is to change how JavaScript files are opened by your computer. Force them to open in the text editor so that they can never be executed outside of the browser.

I had this once when I was using radio loyalty. It slowed my computer right down and I got constant virus alerts from my antivirus provider. Malwarebytes didn't show much apart from a few adware problems and then I went into my extensions and saw that something I didn't know had attached itself to my browser. I removed it and my computer was fine again. Sometimes it can be easy to fix.

I went through the article, it's such an eye opener and very informative I must say. It's always good to take such security measures for our safety.

site doesnt contain viruses.. files does.. what i can suggest is avoid site that has a lot of uploaded files especialy porn videos.. but if you realy need to download a file you can use virustotal first before you proceed to download

There are some decent free AntiVirus programs, so I definitely suggest getting one, and do a full scan. I also recommend avoiding downloads from these sites. They don't guarantee the safety of them. Just do the other tasks.

Aside from Malwarebytes, you can also try Spybot Search and Destroy. It finds things that MWB doesn't. I'd also recommend CCleaner, to remove all those cookies and hangers on (often).

Your system can have all kinds of issues if you have an active virus or something, but if it's just running slow, cleaning things up should help.

This option has proven useful for me with regard to freeing my laptop's hard disk resources.

@Rhentina0526, thank you for the suggestion, noted. I actually don't like downloading files online anyhow except the files are very important to me. There are crazy people online who enjoy infecting people's devices with virus, so it's good to know all this.

If you are working online every day, I suggest to buy a separate laptop for doing these kinds of tasks so that you don't have to worry about the loss of important data. You can get a laptop for even $100. The investment is worth if you are planning to work online for longer periods of time.

On Microworkers site there is not viruses since there is no ads, but employer can put viruses on his site and when you access it as worker, your computer can be infected.
