Postby Netherrealmer » 10 Nov 2022, 19:58

Gamespot is one of the popular news for videogames and popculture but it got caught making Article written by a bot. These articles are written based from Google searches.

It basically made a list of shows cancelled by Netflix but a lot of shows on the list are not canceled. They are properly ended. There is a different between a canceled show and a properly ended show. A properly ended show got a series finale. A canceled show have no ending because production is stopped because of low ratings or other circumstance.

How do you know that article was written by a bot? Maybe the author has a different opinion as to what "cancelled" means.

That article is automated and gets updated on a weekly basis. Its writing also doesn't sound human. Stranger Things Season 5 is not filmed yet and they say Stranger things is canceled.

Because the majority of websites adopt this method, using bots to write content is not considered dishonorable. For writing articles on sites with paid postings today, there is even a News Bot.

Not surprised at all. Nowadays, bots are used to cut costs. I imagine a lot more sites/companies will start relying on bots to do their work.

And I agree cancelled and ended are two different things, but not all the time. Sometimes a series is cancelled so they have to film an "ending" for it in their last season when the show could've gone on for a lot longer.

I once asked the AI to write an article about article-writing sites. The article suggested sites that were shut down years ago. These boots are basically pulling information from search engines.

That's a shame that more and more bots are being used for cost cutting. But definitely replacing a real human is not easy. Nuances of life and languages are tricky. And it would not be easy for bots to make sense of them. These bots can pull informations and gather them, sort them, organize them and present them. But then they cannot go to establish that it is authentic.
