I am using AVG free. For me that is working just fine so far. I wish to get paid version but it's expensive for my yearly expenses.

I just use an older computer with Linux installed and that has kept me squeaky clean for many years without any anti-virus slowing me down.

I stop using Anti-virus for now because it always my downloads, specially kaspersky its very strict everything is malicious.
But its just for now i will renew my Anti-virus after my download, it is important to have an anti-virus on a computer to make it safe.

I'm also using kaspersky.
Despite this downside, I think kaspersky is still a strong contender as it is cheap to buy.

I'm also using Windows defender. I guess anyone with a Windows PC has this program by default.

Yes it is a default anti virus, and i think it's the only one you need. I like to clean my PC now and then with Malwarebytes because I used it for 5 years and old habits die hard.

Are you absolutely sure that free antivirus softwares are sturdy enough? That is, are you able to use PTC sites with such software?

The best anti-virus program I've used is eset nod32. It doesn't slow down my computer like Kaspersky does. It's not free, but it's well worth the money.

I use Bitdefender and love it because it is light and doesn't slow my pc down. I have tried lots in the past but finally settled with this one. I also run malwarebytes once a week and so far I've had no problems.

Currently I have Avast anti virus (free version) on my system and it is pretty good at catching those viruses. Much better then Microsoft Security Essentials.

I just learned that the online version of Kaspersky is more expensive than the version I can procure at a local shop. I'm dumbfounded; I thought Kaspersky online would be cheaper as there are fewer costs involved. :?:

PTC sites sometimes can't get in, so I had to turn off the anti virus.

I am beginning to like Avira. I hope the trial version I've installed recently will perform well.

If you select the correct settings, Avira should serve you well. The problem may set in if you, for instance, instruct this software to automatically delete any suspicious file. You may end up some losing useful files.
