Do you think parents should limit online gaming hours for children?

Postby kat82 » 09 Sep 2025, 07:49

Online games are fun but can be addictive. Many children spend late nights playing. Do you think parents should limit playtime strictly?

I think they should, children spend too much time in front of screens, and addiction to games can have serious consequences for brain development.

Yes it is extremely important for parents to reduce the amount of time children play games both offline games and online ones.

Especially if the game is a gacha game because gachas have elements of gambling. And sometimes you have to spend real life money.

So if it wasn't for such games that contain gambling the limit won't be necessary you think?

The internet overall should has a limit especially on what children must do with it. Besides games and etc, many things are exploitative than constructive online.

Yes these days there are now parental control apps you can install on your child's phone to limit and monitor what they do.

In case of gacha games, you can play it without spending money, but many people are seduced to spend money because the better weapons, the better characters, the better costumes are given to people who pays money.

Me paying for better weapons in the game? Oh no. That makes me feel like keeping my bank card far from where I play games from. And if my son lands on the card and sees an option to upgrade weapons paying using a card, am sure he will enter the card details and money will go.

That's why if you have children, you need to hide your card from them. Because they might spend it from gacha games. There is an incident where a mother was shocked that her $70,000 bank account got empty. Because her son purchased so much DLC for a gacha game.

That we absurd. That is much money to loose just for funny things. I hide my card far from anyone can reach especially the kids. This should let us know the importance of strict rules when it comes to what children can do online.

Just imagine. And they won't know that they are taking you. A real reason to hide such far and also make real limits.
