Postby sweerie_banana » 19 Mar 2025, 12:38

Thank me later. They do this by emailing you about an order you never even purchased. This guy lost $239

It's not paypal that is doing the scams, it is scammers. The title to this thread is misleading.

PayPal Scams have been on my radar for the past 5-6 years, because of the fact that I keep getting the scam emails sent to my spam folder, and the fact that there are a couple of you tube channels that I watch that try to fight back against the scammers that perpetrate the scams.

Note: Do not send me FC, if I haven't agreed to do something yet. If you send me FC and I hadn't agreed to do something, consider it as a donation, as I will not pay it back to you. Donations sent without an agreement every single time, are considered as donations. It will not be refundable, if I do not agree to it in each instance.

Thanks!

Absolutely! These kind of scam emails are common too and they are not coming from the companies they claim to be coming from.

This is a common scam and scammers are not just using Paypal's name to scam. They use banks, hospitals, charity organizations... basically anything you can and can't think of, to scam you. The companies are not affiliated with the scammers hence they normally will not refund any losses.

Yes I believe that PayPal is just too big for such thievery. The evil scammers are doing all of these to make the company looks bad.

If PayPal decides to scam people, that would be the end of them, when they have so many competitors out there, i think it is scammers using PayPal.

They know they'll get the attention of their prospective victims by using a name that is well known. Some folks may not even think twice if they see PayPal or Amazon.

I agree, Paypal isn't scamming people. Where I have beef with Paypal is when they say to report any cases to them but then when you do, they wash their hands off you. It doesn't matter how much evidence you provide, they just don't want to know. I know because it happened to me and many others.
