Belly-Filling Dollar Tree 101

Postby Spontaneo » 24 Jan 2025, 23:32

Here in the United States, we have discount stores called Dollar Tree where almost everything is $1.25. However, some items have been included recently for $3.00 and $5.00. I usually stick with the $1.25 items and choose filling belly food.

To begin, I would like to tell you what food to buy that is filling:

John Morrel’s hot smoked sausage links to prepare Crock-Pot candied hot smoked sausage. Buy a bottle of grape jelly and a bottle of BBQ sauce from Dollar Tree. Cut the sausage into coin-size pieces, place into Crock-Pot. Then pour grape jelly and BBQ sauce into Crock-Pot and mix. Cook on HIGH for 3 1/2 hours. Serve with bread and make sandwiches or use toothpicks.

6 ramen noodles packages together (beef, chicken, shrimp or steak)

Flour tortillas, 20 in a package. Good to have in place of bread.

My roommate swears by the little bowls of cereal and consumes 1 to 2 a day.

My roommate also drinks the bottles of orange pineapple and fruit juice.

Personally, I love to buy boxes of true lemon crystallized water enhancers, 12 sticks in a box. Proceeds go to Feed The Hungry. The enhancer is made from real lemons. I like to mix the true lemon with iced tea and there you have it! An Arnold Palmer also called a half and half!

1 pound packages of bologna! I prepare Hammy Sammys! Chop up a pound of bologna, chop up 4 dil pickle spears (jars of pickles sold at Dollar Tree) then mix with mayonnaise (sold at Dollar Tree). Spread on your favorite bread (bread is sold at Dollar Tree) or flour tortilla (sold at Dollar Tree)!

Then, my roommate loves Chester’s Cheese Puffs. I really need to buy myself a bag as they are soft to chew on.

My roommate likes their Pickle Chips (not potato chips) located in the freezer section.

Then again, my roommate likes the little bags of Goldfish cheddar.

I like to buy the packages of cream cheese to have with blueberry bagels (various bagels are sold at Dollar Tree).

Hot dogs come in handy!

I love the small containers of ice cream, but never allow myself the splurge.

Various small microwave pizzas!

I have a box of Dollar Tree mozzarella cheese sticks in my freezer that I have not consumed yet! What do you think?

The grand finale? I love the bags of frozen French fries! Place in the air fryer for 25 minutes on 400F degrees and voila!

A complaint. Do not buy the pizza rolls as the pizza rolls taste nasty.

So, this is belly-filling Dollar Tree 101. I really do hope that you have a similar store near you.

You have mentioned your shopping preference at the dollar stores several times in your various posts. You really need to do some online searches into the varied health risks from their overall grocery inventory. Once you research and find health risks of consuming dollar store products, the dollar stores will be the last place you go when looking to buy healthy foods.

These are just a few examples to give you a head start in your research.

This evening, the roommate and I went to Dollar Tree. We bought alot of items for the kitchen that were not food but needed to have for the kitchen.

I grabbed a new pitcher, 6 food storage containers that are microwave-safe and freezer-safe, 2 boxes of gallon storage bags, 2 boxes of aluminum foil wraps, hand sanitizer, Spic and Span cleaner, 3 coffee cups and furniture polish.

What food-related items do you like to buy?

Maybe you could suggest some cheaper, healthier alternatives? That would be more constructive.

I really do not find what I have listed to be all that bad. I am healthy. Atleast I am not going through some drive-thru every day. Yes?

If you only had $5.00 and to spend the money at Dollar Tree, what would you buy?

I think that we are going to Dollar Tree tomorrow. What should I buy?

Today, I thought about beans. Dollar Tree has quite a selection to choose from. Perfect for belly-filling comfy food called chili!

You can even get the chili seasoning at Dollar Tree!

Today, I bought some neat stuff while at Dollar Tree!

What was really neat were pouches of jalapeno tuna salad! I bought 4 pouches! I can have some on my mashed potatoes. Soft food a necessity due to dental work.

Then, I find mashed potatoes to be boring and not filling. However, a necessity because of dental work. So, I bought some cans of cream of mushroom soup to pour on top of the mashed potatoes.

Today, I had some mashed potatoes mixed with some cream of mushroom soup that I had bought at Dollar Tree! Delicious and still have plenty for grabbing when I do not feel like cooking!

Recently, I bought canned cream of mushroom soup and mixed with mashed potatoes! Fills you up and is an alternative to mashed potatoes smothered in butter!

;) ;)
