Making Betting Your Side Gig?

Postby JASPREET » 13 Jan 2025, 04:26

One of my colleagues is quite good at betting although we all know that we cannot win daily but his probability of winning is more than the losses so he is always in profit. I would like to know if its possible to consider it a side gig.

Your colleague may have found success in betting, it's important to remember that there are no guarantees in gambling.

Personally I don't even trust betting enough to make it my side hustle.

I am too bad at it that I feel I need to stay away from it and if I try hard, I will be bankrupt soon

I wouldn't consider it a gig, just a gamble. Gig for me is something I'd do for a guaranteed income. With betting, I put myself in a position to lose rather than earn anything. Usually one is required to pay to place a bet whereas with a gig I get paid for services rendered.

I used to be able to make money from it. My technique worked for a few years. I used to make in-game football bets. Turned £25 into £1500 with small consistent bets. It was at about £1700 but after numerous losses, I was down to £1500 so stopped as I realised what I was doing no longer worked (probably down to bots) and I couldn't figure out another way.

What I learnt is that it's no more "gambling" than FX or bitcoin trading is.

Also, I do know people who can consistently make money from horse betting.

FYI it's actually trading on the movement of the odds so a bit like FX scalping.

Majority of people do combo bet with half euro not more than that or 1 euro sometimes.

I don't have much luck in betting or gambling and that's why I cannot consider betting as a way to earn even a small amount

Yeah, I was doing numerous small bets on games. The annoying thing is when you get a whale drop big money and it forces the market massively in one direction or another, and you end up losing more than you planned because it smashes through your stoploss by several points, so you spend the rest of the session earning back that loss.

Avoid betting because finally you becomes looser. You can't control greed and emotions which leads to more losses.

betting can not be used as a side hustle but if you must bet you have to do so responsibly don’t over do it cause when you overdo it then greed sets in and make you to lose money you never expected

while we talk about the success we should not forget that this betting has done some harm to people who overdo it many has lost their money while trying to gamble for more money gambling can not be over emphasized i rather advice that if you must gamble, you gamble with caution so that you don’t lose your money.

It's quite risky to earn from betting and you cannot even plan to win bets and its entirely dependent upon your luck
