Insane Habits that Rich People Think are Normal

Postby friendociate » 13 Feb 2023, 12:15

The Financial Diet tells us about rich people's weird habits of
  • treating life-changing mistakes like they're nothing
  • Expecting an Inheritance
  • Their Deus ex Machina Relatives (who basically fund their lavish lifestyles)
  • Flood of Wellness Products
  • Buying Items without Looking at the Price Tag (I kinda do this, since I don't actually do the shopping and so I just tell my caregiver 'what items I need')
  • Having "Helicopter Parents"
  • Getting More Things for FREE (the more you spend, the more you get for FREE; no?)
  • Getting Good Jobs no matter how incompetent you are (Confidence outshines Competence)

"Competence" is built on ancient words that mean "to Fall- or Come Together, be Convenient or Fitting (see Compete)."

search-tags xCompetence xCompetent xIncompetence xIncompetent

In the video, she very clearly explains each one of these points, it is undeniable that life is much easier for those who have a lot of money, they can pay to erase a mistake they made in life, and have privileges that are impossible for us.

I'm sure they appreciate their 'sugar-mommies & -daddies' (who DID the work for the wealth the newlings inherit), but ... gratitude becomes too inconvenient.

Like with my little example: it started out, I felt like I had to 'throw myself on the mercy' of my caregiver---BEGGING her to pick up items at the grocery store; now I just text her, telling her to 'add another item to the list'

That part of buying things without looking at the price is so true of wealthy people. I once went shopping with one of them. He was just picking his cart full and mine was empty. He started telling me that we have only one life to live.

I remember of this when there was a show about people in Dubai. Show talk about rich people in Quatar before World Cup Championship as promotion. There was a women who say she even don't look how much cost anything. She just buy and buy. She bought a home to be a cargo space for only her items.

Buying Items without Looking at the Price Tag

One way Americans frequently do this---some buy everything on a credit-card (or debit/credit card ... an account to which they automatically send their whole paychecks, so they know they'll eventually pay back whatever they spend above 'what they have').

Of course, they're not regularly making any HUGE purchases---just their regular diet & medicine & sometimes clothes 8-)

I think another very outstanding one is getting an inheritance. They are entitled and can't wait for the original owners to go away.

Smiles... This post is quite a true fact about rich people. However, they love nepotism, and they believe whatever they seek for shall be found as far as nothing more except money.

That, or their 'crash-and-burn' lives are "what we middle-classers enjoy watching" (ever since Robin Leach's Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous ... heck! I'm pretty sure The E! Network & MTV's- or VH1's CRIBS are based on that.)

Part of me wants to ask 'Wouldn't it be A LIE for them to behave as if they were "normal"?' but then I remember how the first Buddha started as a 'rich kid' totally having nothing to do with the starving peasant outside his palace gate, and didn't reach Enlightenment until he spent some time denying his privileged lifestyle

That's a common idea among many religions, learning humility and becoming more enlightened by shedding oneself of privilege. Christianity says that Jesus claimed a rich man would have a harder time getting into heaven than a camel passing through "the eye of the needle" (a low and narrow gate that would require the camel to get down on its knees to go through). In a conversation he had with a rich young ruler who asked him how he could get to heaven, Jesus told the young man to give away all of his possessions to the poor (which he didn't want to do).

Not trying to turn this into a religious conversation, just pointing out that several cultures also had the idea of privilege causing people to be blind to the suffering of others.

In my view, they squander their money in collecting expensive or vintage cars. Instead of doing so, why not help the people who are in need. In this way, the can feel true happiness in helping others.

"Give a man a fish, and you feed him for the day; TEACH a man TO fish, and you feed him for an hour." That, and the cars retain value (and become more-and-more valuable as the owners refine them and they gain more & more 'vintage').

"Vintage" comes from a wordroot that means "to Take for Wine" (as it originally referred to 'the Year the Harvest of Grapes was Taken to make that Wine,' shifting to the adjective sense meaning "Made in an Earlier Time").

Most rich people in my place can't just do a 1000km journey without their private jets with full crewmen. What happened to first class of commercial flights?
