Our password at writing sites

Postby bestwriter » 15 Nov 2021, 02:39

When we forget our password Admin lets us reset it. But at one Site I cannot do it When I tried to reset it as I had forgotten it I just could not I took it up with that Admin and was shocked when it gave me my old password. But I said I want to reset and the response was that they can do it for me by providing a another password.

What's going on?

That's very odd but if they are really one of the admin I think you should trust them...

But is that normal. Why should I depend on them to reset my password. In the normal course the user has that privilege

I agree with you on this point. It is not normal. This clearly shows that the site owner/s is/are playing some mischief. The good option would be not to continue with such sites.

That's weird. I have never encountered this thing and this does makes us feel unsafe and since they have our passwords they can do anything from our private account.

No matter what you do to secure your account, the admin can access it if he wants. Therefore, you should not be surprised when the admin proposes to reset your password.

I is so weird. I have never encountered such a scenario. I always just know that you are allowed to reset password, not be given your old password. I Didn't know that admin has such access to your account.

From what I know the admin cannot see the password of the members. I think that is the standard.

Yeah, I have also always known that admins cannot access it's users passwords. The site is doing wrong by accessing other people's privacy.

Do not use the same username and passwords one every single site you join. You are making it easy for the hackers.

If we use different username and password for different websites then it does get difficult to remember all or we need to keep note of details so we don't forget all the time.

That is weird and the first I've heard of. This is fishy and you are right to be concerned. Perhaps admin is up to something.

I use one username as much as possible but the password is different, of course.

I think using the same username across sites earns you a trust and you might be able to attract clients. I post here, and you can find me on Trendri and Bizdustry as well because my username is same.

The question here is this is the first time I have come across where Admin wants to reset my password. Is it done ever?

The post is about whether Admin of any Site can decide about resetting the password and not let the user do it
