Anyone writing at Niume?

Postby kaka135 » 11 Sep 2016, 03:57

I just came across this site, it's a blogging site and the current payrate is $1 RPM (1000 views = $1). Minimum payout is $10, and pay to PayPal.

It seems like this site has started since 2014 or 2015, and the web design looks good. I am not sure why I didn't hear about this site until now.

But, I don't think I have spare time to write there now, as I am busy at TinyCent. TinyCent pays better (200 views = $1), but this site looks well established and promising.

I am just wondering if anyone is writing at this site and has got paid. ;)

I have joined there last night but yet to write my first post. The rate sounds bit slow but the site is interesting and looks trustworthy. Besides the payout is only $10 so I will certainly give it a try.

Good! You can really write many articles at different sites!

A nice site however looks a bit slow. Any idea about the word limits?

How does this minimum payout compare to that of TinyCent.

Anyway, I'm wary of writing for sites that don't pay for my work upfront but instead pay for the visitors I'm able to draw to the site.

I've never heard of this site. I wonder why it hasn't popped up earlier if it was established in 2014/2015. I'll check it out though... always interested in new opportunities.

I looked at the site and they recently changed their model. The founders are tech guys who have a company and are pretty well off. The one thing to note is their terms and conditions in that they state whatever you post also confers them non-exclusive rights to use the material elsewhere for promotion reasons, similar to the Facebook rights.

While not technically illegal, it's not wise if you post your own images or have a piece that will go viral as you give them rights to use it, for no other compensation.

I think these owners are too mean. If they demand such exclusive rights, they should pay for my articles upfront. They should stop this business of paying based on views.

Many use this as a blanket term in their terms and conditions, but few exercise them such as Facebook. I would imagine most people who wish to use the site for the small remuneration may not fully understand the rights or care. They are non-exclusive rights, so you can use it wherever you want, but say you have a photo and a site wants exclusive rights for a few months, then you have lost the ability to give them that right if you have published it on the site. You could try and delete it, if need be.

More sites are using this in their terms to allow them to promote the sites:

" You retain all your ownership rights in your content, but you are required to grant us a limited licence to use, store, copy and to distribute and disclose it to third parties any such content for any purpose. "

" You own the rights to the content you post on the Site but when you upload or post content to our Site; you grant a perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty free, worldwide licence to use, copy, reproduce, process, adapt, prepare derivative works of, modify, publish, transmit, display and distribute any IP content that you post on our Site in any and all media or distribution methods (not known or later developed.

You agree that this licence includes the right for us to provide, promote, and improve our Site and to make content submitted to or through our Site available to other companies, organisations or individuals who partner with us for the syndication, broadcast, distribution or publication of such content on other media and services, subject to our terms and conditions for such content use.

Such additional uses by us, or other companies, organisations or individuals who partner with us, may be made with no compensation paid to you with respect to the content that you submit, post, transmit or otherwise make available through our Site. "

As someone who has studied IP law, it would not be recommended to post on this site if you are a serious writer or photographer.

For goodness' sake, they really want a piece of your soul! I wouldn't want to publish my photos for sure on that site, as I wouldn't know where my photos would end up where or how they manipulated for their own muses!

I might not make $10 dollars with this site, but hey, I didn't have that $10 dollars before either.

Minimum payout for TinyCent, the first time is $5, and the subsequent is $15.

I saw articles written on this site shared by some of my FB friends, but I didn't registered yet there. I'm thinking if I will do it or not, because I want to start writing on TC before.

No, I haven't heard of this site before, and so far based on what's being said here, it doesn't appeal to me. It seems to me that the quality of emerging writing sites is progressively getting worse and worse. They seem to want more from writers for very little in return. Thanks for sharing, but I'll be passing on this one :)

I have yet to check the meaning of "five lines" which is necessary to make a post but most of the posts I saw had more than 5 paragraphs.

This news gives us more hope when it comes to online writing sites. it seems as if no matter how many sites are shutting down and disappointing the users, there are a few more new sites surfacing to existence. I will try it out when I find some free time.

If Tinycent can pay $1 for 200 views, I don't see myself joining the site soon since it would be quite a mouthful of work. But I should enquire why the site has to use the same model as Tinycent, it does not encourage me though competition is always good. Thats unique about Niume?

I think I pass this one, first I don't like sharing things in social media and this one seems a lot of work to get 1000 views. If I join a site like this one I would prefer Tinycent or LB. But right now I don't have more time in my hands to work in a site like this.

I did a little more digging and I found that the website is listed for sale...

http://whois.domaintools.com/niume.com

Now it could be a mistake, but when you own a TLD you don't list for sale by accident do you?

I know this site for so long but I am waiting for someone to invite me to use their link and someone did. Until now I am not posting anything because I can't see anyone got paid or maybe I missed something. Even on Internet, I am checking out of payment proof, but I am landed on some articles that reviews the site seriously.
