Re: FaucetHub

Faucethub has benefited many different groups-- users, faucet owners, advertisers and admin. It is a legit site that has helped the newbies earn their first satoshi and helped experienced users increase their holdings. The site has lasted longer than similar sites.

Does free crypto still rain down on members in the chat box area? I know it was something that happened quite often throughout the day in the past. Is this still the case? Does anyone use the chat box and earn that way?

I was not able to claim to some faucets because I was busy doing some of my personal activities.

Besides the fact that the site has lasted longer than similar ones, it still has some problems, I don't work there frequently because the pop-up ads are very annoying and end up taking us time and lately some adult content pop up too

Adult content pop up never comes to me, ofcourse this means adult industry is accepted to them, but then these are for titcoins, not all; other coins accepting adult ads are different thing.

Hi there  Thank you for this. I agree with you. I do not like popups either; in fact I detest any annoyance. To take it a step further I also do not like secret mining nor short links. As others have explained it is not faucethub creating ads or causing pop-ups. It is the nature of getting something for free earning through the ad networks. I would rather say earning because you are clicking things, you are spending your precious time and you are being subjected to annoyances.

If you do not log in to faucethub but use the same faucets you will still get the popups. Yes it is possible to use the faucets without logging in to faucethub. Therefore the annoyance issue is not faucethub. You are working on the faucets and not on faucethub. People who use faucets understand it is the ads that creates the revenue and therefore they unfortunately expect to be subjected to popups and annoyances at some point. Some ad networks are better than others just like some faucets are better than others. I question the minds of the people running the ad networks which allow these annoyances over their ad networks. One tip is to ensure you have good antimalware and firewall software running. Find the right combination of faucet / ad network that is most suitable to you. Another suggestion is to not consistently use faucets. Fourth, besides faucets there are other ways to earn crypto such as through jobs, tasks, games, cpt, gpt, investing, mining, trading etc. Fifth, fight back with tips from others (see below) Faucets are a way for those who are new to crypto to earn their first satoshis. When it comes to earning anything whether online or offline the situation is not perfect. There are still problems.

Going forward the largest search engine will be cracking down on popups and crypto ads in general on its platforms. You will see it happening slowly but surely. It will be happening this month even as I write this. Other major social media sites are also sparking changes not just to crypto but to binary options and shady activities. It is about time they did so. I have written about various investigations and crackdowns in a handful of threads and posts. This will bring some changes (good and some bad depending on how things play out). How long have you been using faucets?

Tips from others:
For those of you who use faucets how do you cope with the annoyances? Care to share any tips to keep the popups to a minimum? Some of you are able to close the popups before they fully open or even prevent them entirely . How do you do it?

Yeah revenue does matters, no faucet will survive without ads, and pop ads has become the mandatory with all faucets alongwith shortlinks. We have to wait for changes and gice advice to different owners how to keep revenue with changes.

@Happyland - Although we do not 'work' for FaucetHub, I think what nela13 means is there are pop-ups on FH, the site itself. Of course (as you said), they're necessary for the site to survive. But it doesn't change the fact that they're annoying XD

Fortunately, compared to other faucets, FaucetHub pop-up ads are not as in-your-face. They only pop-up every once in a while, not with every click.

Yes thank you for this. I agree there are popups on faucethub. Everyone should expect it. Again let me say to have less annoyances and wasted time it is not necessary to log in to faucethub or even simply open the site on your screen. If you use faucets you will get credited into faucethub without logging in or checking the micro wallet. Trust the process. The api should work as designed. If you find at some point you do not get credited then do not use those faucets.

Other benefits include the fact that in the past I have found that by not logging in the process works faster and my antimalware flags less often for mining malware. Kataomoi it is nice to know that you agree with these two points as well:
kataomoi wrote:I never knew either, but I recently noticed that my CPU usage goes up whenever I visit FH. I looked at their page source and also saw a script for a hidden miner.

There are multiple benefits to not logging in. I have been expressing this for some time. Dealing with less popups is only one advantage.

Kataomoi, how do you close popups/short links before they fully load? Do you prevent them from loading in the first place? Please share your tips if you have any.) I am thinking you might have a tip or two. :) Thank you.

It is not a good sign if Faucethub is using a secret miner device. That is not correct with their members to do that, maybe some members are not aware of it.It would be nice to let know all the members that they are using mining device on their site.

Most likely it is coinhive which is notorious for infiltrating sites.

@Happyland - I can't agree with not logging into the FaucetHub though. I personally like to constantly check my coins, not only to see if I'm getting paid (which is important), but also to see which faucets are helping me generate referrals. For those faucets, I will keep promoting the link because they are popular and will continue to passively earn for me. Plus I like going through the list of faucets on FH to find new faucets easily. If I can find a new faucet before everyone else, I'm more likely to get the best rates because as your probably know, faucets will drop rates or close down once they become too popular.

The mining on FH does not trigger my antivirus/antimalware. That's why it was undetected and unknown to me for a long time. I only noticed it because I happened to see my CPU usage spike when I was on FH. I turned back on my AdBlock for the site and it solved all the problems with mining/pop-ups. So now, I recommend keeping your AdBlock on on FH. They'll display a message everytime you log in hinting for you to turn it off, but you can bypass it without turning it off. They don't enforce it.

Kataomoi, how do you close popups/short links before they fully load? Do you prevent them from loading in the first place? Please share your tips if you have any.) I am thinking you might have a tip or two. :) Thank you.
I keep my fingers on CTRL+W (shortcut for closing windows/tabs) and as soon as anything pops up, I close it without giving it the opportunity to load. This works most of the time, but recently the faucets have been getting smarter. Sometimes the pop-up will open and minimize before I have a chance to close it. Then I have to manually click and close it.

It seems like they have peercoin but not many good faucets for the same. Then again peercoin does not have much demand on that front.

I didn't know about this trick, I will try it next time. Pop up ads is something that annoys me but I understand that they pay to the faucet to be shown.
Does anyone know which is the minimum to withdraw our earnings to our bitcoin wallet?

My antimalware is sensitive to flag things that can remotely cause an issue even if it is not a virus per se. Even if a miner is not a complete "threat" it will still flag for me and let me know something unexpected is lurking.

There will be more changes to ads going forward. The big players are cracking down but the ads always try to keep a step ahead.

Glad I was able to get a tip from you. Thanks for your input.

Mine is too, but it didn't catch the FH miner. I get alerts for hidden miners on other sites, but FH is seen as clean. They must've used some script that cannot be detected easily. But anyway, the AdBlock will solve the problem so I don't mind opening the page more often now.

It is interesting that some members can notice the hidden mining device and others don't.Maybe they are not using in every country?
