Except for Horse Racing no Sport is officially allowed to bet officially. But since the GST on the betting is too much that is at higher end of the slab of 28%, the Race clubs are facing bit difficulty in finding good business from the punters! Today Hyderabad Race Club approached the Government to request the reduction on GST on betting!

This is just a try by the Club as the Horse Racing Industry is a big industry and it is giving job opportunity to lakhs of people around the country. If Government is not giving any consideration I am sure this Industry is going to perish soon! Hope Government will do some thing to save this age old Industry!

I fully agree with your desperation...but the Clubs like Hyderabad Race Club which are more than 100 years old (Founded in 1868) must be given a consideration by the Government at least to maintain the heritage. For that matter almost all the Race Clubs in India are more than 100 years old so are some Stud farms where the Race horses are being bred!

You have a higher chance to win a singing contest bet if you pick a good looking male contestant because the voters are teenage girls and thirsty housewives. Yes women dont support female contestants.

If you mean betting on UFC fights, I have not done that but I am practicing. Yesterday I listed down 3 fights for my imaginary bets and won 2 of them. If I get it right the next time maybe I can place a real bet online.

Sports betting is very addictive and whenever you decide to venture on that then don't invest too much in it.

When you're sports fan, it can be addictive at the same time, profitable. Since you have more knowledge of the probability for winning the bet, it's hard to hold back when you are confident though on your winning team.

You are right with the addiction because I used to bet on horse races before. I really enjoyed it but I lost interest when the horses got fewer and the dividends got smaller.
