Re: Do you trust your bank 100% when it comes to keeping your money?

You should not put all your eggs in one basket and that is why you should keep part of your savings in physical assets for added security.

So far I have had no problems with my bank so I trust them but when it comes to investing my money I always look for better solutions other than the ones my bank presents to me. I am also careful when it comes to automatic bank payments, we need to track where our money is going.

Banks are registered by government and you know the CEOs. No need to fear unless you use a bank not registered.

Even though banks in my country are owned by the private sector, they have been made to be very secure because the government makes the rules very strict for anyone to enter the financial sector.

I trust my bank because we operate in a well regulated banking system. The apex Bank in my country is competent enough to regulate and supervise commercial banks. If they misbehave, they would surely be brought to book because the apex bank deals with them with a strong hand.

If it is my local bank, it is reliable and I trust it 100%. It was founded even when I was not born.

In my country, a licensed bank can never close down. Government would send bailout. That's why we have confidence in registered commercial banks. Not microfinance banks.

The only risk is if for one reason or the other, you are with an unrecognized bank. I even trust the online banks because they are subjected to the same scrutiny that commercial banks go through from government.

Of course, since they are insured. I know my money is safe. But the problem is their own percentage cut from my money. And inflation.

I am saving my money in a trusted bank owned by the national government. It is best to choose a big bank not a small one for it might be merged to a big bank once it does not meet the standard requirements.

Keep your deposits in a registered Bank. Some mushroom banks spring up and sway people into depositing with them. When you are sure your bank is duly registered, you are guaranteed your money is safe.

The credibility of a bank is a function of the robustness of a country's financial regulatory systems. A country with deficient financial regulatory systems is likely to have feeble banking institutions.

People should thus be evet vigilant to ensure that their governments are credible.

In the last decade, our country saw some of the loan fraudster cases where banks were adversely effected. But despite that the money of the common men stays safe and secure to a great extent due to the strict guidelines by the RBI and government here. People trust their banks especially the ones that have established themselves as brands over the years.

Even when a bank was robbed, I still went to withdraw one and a half-hour after the incident and I was paid. That was when I had a guarantee that my money is safe with my bank.

That's because the bank has reserve that it would draw from. Banks save money too. I think reserve ratio is about 10% of capitalization and is saved somewhere else.
