Gina145 wrote:Since the whole Bubblews debacle, followed by being cheated by a few other short-lived sites, I've become very sceptical about joining any new writing sites I come across. However, when I looked at Niume everything about the site looked really professional, so I signed up and have now published one post.

I was a bit distressed earlier when, after I mentioned Niume on another forum, I was directed to this discussion with particular reference to the comment about the domain being for sale. I was really planning to concentrate on quality there, but now I'm undecided about how to proceed. Photography is one of my hobbies, and I really don't want to publish my best photos there if I'm likely to regret it later. On the other hand I don't like using free photos off the internet unless I really don't have something else that fits.

Maybe after all my best way forward is to concentrate on my own blogs, even if they don't earn much.

Sorry @Gina145 about this bit of information! I know you're a careful person and I don't want you get burned again. I see lots of activities with this new site on BJ too, but after seeing the screen shot that @Lexi posted, I am at a halt! For me, it is not worth investing the time even though I need to make money!

I really appreciate the warning and am grateful that it came before I put much time and effort into that site. It's starting to look that the only site that can be trusted is myLot, but that's really a site for socialising rather than writing.

If blogging worked better I'd stop looking for that kind of site, but it's really tough to find an audience that way. I've got a blog about bonsai which attracts a decent amount of traffic when I promote my posts at Reddit, but when I write about anything else I've had no luck promoting it. Other sub-Reddits just seem to block my shares.

I have written five posts there and with two referrals, my earning so far is $2.29 . The only way to earn quick there is through referrals but how many referrals can we get. I am sticking to tinycent for now.

Where can I find my earnings there? The only thing I know is that my post has 10 hypes and 52 views. There is someone who click favorite as well, other than that, I don't know where to find my earnings.

At the top of the screen there's a pink button with a bar graph on it. Click on that and it will show you your dashboard with a graph showing your daily earnings. Your total views, referrals, posts and earnings are listed above the graph.

Thanks @Lexi for the research and sharing. It's really weird to find a running site is listed for sale. I don't think I'll write on that site now, until things get clearer. Moreover, I do not have much available to write there too.

It gives me an impression that you should avoid the site because this is on sale. However, I hope it find a buyer so that the site will continue.

I'm not saying that the site is in trouble, but often these tech entrepreneurs like to 'flip' sites and use them as a kind of portfolio to prove to others that they are worth investing in.

The owner of the site has a consulting business, therefore if there is a good price offered, many people do sell out, such as sites like lastminute.com to make a quick fast buck.

@Gina145 Yes, I think it's good to save your best photos. Have you tried selling them? I have read that some sites pay quite well for the photos, perhaps you can try that too. It'd be good if you can turn your hobby into business. ;)

I am currently writing at TinyCent and sometimes mylot too. Same as you, though mylot doesn't earn much, it's a good place to socialize.

A few years ago I uploaded some photos to a few microstock sites and I've made a bit of money that way. The trouble is that their technical requirements have become very strict and it's not a kind of photography I enjoy, so I haven't added anything new for a long time. I recently joined a photo sharing site called ClickASnap, and I believe they have plans for selling photos in the future so I'll see how that turns out. Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm reluctant to try TinyCent because I've seen mixed reviews of the site with some claiming that not everyone is getting paid. I think I'll give that one a miss for now.

I will also stick to TinyCent at the moment, as it pays much better. But this site does look nice! ;)

Hope the photo sharing site works good for you. I remember reading from mylot, an user made some money from selling his photos. I think your photos look good and should be able to get buyers too.

I have not heard anyone not getting paid by TinyCent yet, perhaps they have taken quite some time to process the payment (7-10 days).

I think I have to check this site which is promising based on the posts I have read in this thread. Well, site looks good at the outset so maybe I will register.

I have registered on the site and wrote a couple of posts too. If one is able to get some referrals then one can reach the payout quite sooner.

I can't remember where I read it but somebody said that people from America weren't getting paid, and someone else said only people from India were. I hope that's not true, but it worries me a bit. I'm very reluctant to try any sites that are brand new. That's why I liked the fact that Niume had been around for some time, but the idea that the domain is for sale is a worry too.

I have also read some negative comments about TinyCent on mylot, I read those before I started to write at tinycent. At the beginning, only Indian users were paid via direct bank transfer, as the site had problem transferring money via PayPal. Perhaps at that time, only Indian users were paid. But later the site paid via Amazon gift cards before it fixed the PayPal issue, and later the paypal issue was fixed too.

I agree with you. Sometimes we do not know how long a new site will last, so sites like mylot are a good place to stay, even though the earning is slow. ;)

I have joined TinyCent the other day and I am testing it with 2 posts, observing how to earn fast. And since I am a newbie, my first post got 2 views only that is good for 1 cent. However, sharing my post in Facebook got me a good number of views. And with the payment, we will know when I reach the minimum threshold.

I am still not active at Niume though I posted one topic. Lately there are people subscribe and someone left a comment. I am not sure if that is a good start for me. I hope my internet will be regular soon so that I could post a lot on three of my blogging sites.
