...and then you have users that create wholesale lies with their discussions. Some guy there says his 'friend has a bob cat. He got the cat from his uncle who was a soldier who had just returned from duty'. Then he posts a photo from a 3 month old article that he says is his friend's bobcat. Why do people invent stories and try to pretend they are real? Not very nice making fools of other members like that...

To get more interaction. More sad story, more kittys, you get more interaction.

Hmm, that is pathetic from the user, i believe the forum have moderators they should fetch out copy and paste articles. And deal with the offender the best possible way they can.

Are there any rules in Mylot as to how many you can post a discussion in a day?

Their discussion lasted about 90 seconds before it was deleted. Lots of new users ask for the rules/guidelines and then never bother reading them...and end up banned before too long.

I think there isn't a minimum of post you can write but for me one or two are enough if you really want to answer to everyone who responded to your post.

I think there is no rule but we need to post quality discussion if we plan to post many in order for us not to be like spamming already...

"But I was not advertising" claims a member that got banned.

However: "the Kindle edition is available you can message me for details" 30 Dec
"grab a copy and help to achieve the sales" 28 Jan
"why don't u grab a copy" 28 Jan
"You can grab a copy from Amazon SG too" Jan 29
"when are you grabbing a copy from Amazon" 29 Jan

In none of those instances had the person being addressed expressed interest in buying it.

The myLot FAQ page says "What exactly is considered advertising? - Promoting your business, affiliate program, referral link, blog, product or service, job opening, business opportunity, personal singles ad, monetized link, etc."

Encouraging people to buy something is promoting/advertising it.

It ain't rocket science to figure that out, but...

Oh okay, it makes sense because if we don't post quality discussion it will be looked like spamming so it will be unfair to the owner of the site.

Finished out January with $20.7966, good start for the year. Gonna have to be a bit more active this month to break 20 with only 28 days to do it in instead of the usual 30 or 31.

January was a very good month for you, congratulations  I didn't have enough activity to reach the minimum, all my fault as I have been very busy offline.

I miss Mylot and I guess will visit again and hopefully be active. My only problem there is that i felt the site is very very slow, earning wise. But I haven't participated for months though I visited once in a while. Glad that Mylot is still there.

Question: If someone gives likes to your discussions or comments, can you get earnings from receiving likes in Mylot?

Not sure but if they have like option they must be paying an amount even if it's a tiny one.

As the Earning FAQ says: If no one reads what you wrote (exactly that, follows a link to open and read the discussion), interacts with it (makes a response or a comment to it), or otherwise considers it interesting (by liking it), then you likely won't earn anything.

Now flip that around...by receiving a view (from a member), a response/comment, or a like, you are earning for it.

THAT being said, a 'like' is more relevant to how your discussion appears in the Top Rated list than in earning...you only get a few thousandths of a cent for one.

(The words in parenthesis are mine added)

The site isn't a very slow earning, I used to receive payments from Mylot every month, from how many sites do you receive payments every month? The more active one is the higher are the chances to receive interaction and consequently earn more.

Different people will earn at different rates/speeds according to what they invest into the site. You have to be consistent and make a good effort, which means investing a bit of time to get to know people and then to continue that association, and to earn best you have to do that every single day.
