Re: How hard are you hit with inflation?

Prices are rising faster than income. Inflation hurts everyone, specially people on fixed income because they can't get more money in an inflation, unless the currency is pegged to the inflation rate.

That is true, our salary is almost the same as in 2021 but the prices increased so much that what we earn must be very well managed otherwise we are in risk of being broke before the end of the month.

I haven't bought vegetables for a long time since I started gardening. I was shocked how the price of chili peppers quadrupled, and I am relieved I am getting them for free because of my garden.

I get many things from our farm too and I guess that is why our finances are well, one simple example are pumpkins, we have a lot and its price is high in the supermarket.

Mainly the grocery bill. Food prices have increased from 5 cents to 50 cents or even higher depending on what I'm getting. A bag of oranges is up to $7 a bag. They used to be between $4 and $5.

I find price increase more acceptable than quality decrease for the sake of keeping the original price. I stop buying products the moment they drop their quality.

In this region of the world inflation has really eaten deep into the fabrics of our society and a lot of people are finding it difficult to live a comfortable life as the prices of goods and services are constantly spiking.

Same here. When I notice a decrease in quality I decide that it's something I can live without.

A country's economic recovery will get hurt even more if food prices kept on rising because that'll force people to cut back on non-food spending to just manage two square meals.

The price of oil just ballooned for the worst, this is really frustrating. I want E-vehicles to take over.

I do exactly the same, I prefer to pay a little more and have a quality product. sometimes I notice that what is under a promotion in the supermarket are bad quality products or products that are terrible to our health, even in promotion I only buy if the product is good otherwise I prefer to buy things that aren't in sale.

In my country, the price of many foodstuff redoubled. For ex., a package of coffee that used to cost 9 reais, now costs 18. Many other foodstuff prices raised up to the moon, even foodstuff historically considered poor people food like eggs, milk and rice. Fruit juices that last year cost 5 reais, now cost 7. We must pay too much attention when we go to the supermarket or we get easily broken. My neighbour Argentina got very much worse: until 2019, it was possible to rent a very modest apartment for 4000 pesos in Córdoba and now for the same apartment they ask a 30 thousand pesos rent. When I was in Argentina by my relatives, I remember the average salary was between 300 and 400 pesos and a 4 or 5 people family lived (better said, survived) of that small amount along the whole month and now 400 pesos isn't enough even to buy food and drinks for a single day.

What has happened between China and Ukraine will also hit us hard with inflation as Russia and Ukraine are exporters of many things including edible oil

Economists did warn about a sharp rise in inflation with Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Russia's a top supplier of oil and natural gas, so this attack could disrupt energy supplies.

It's expected and we all know the Governments will try to push the inflation further on the name of this war just to fill their pockets again as they did earlier too by selling Petrol at so high price even when crude price was quite low

Ukraine has long been called as the Breadbasket of Europe. This Russian invasion is disrupting the global wheat trade with drastic impact on overall food prices.
