It's pretty easy. But I notice I make more when I write about certain things,
and then promote those links in groups.
I just have been lazy about it. But I might try writing one a day again.

I just received the coolest eMail.

"Congrats! Your story Welcome to the Wonderful World of Pesto was selected as a Vocal Staff Pick. ...
Your story will now appear on the Vocal homepage, and to help your story get discovered, it’ll be featured on our social media accounts."

I am so surprised. I didn't even sign up for the Premium Plan. I mean ... not yet. I wasn't going to sign up because I wasn't sure about the site. They picked my 2nd article. I'm glad I tested the site with food articles. People always like FOOD!

Yes I think you found your niche! very good since they liked it now they promote it and you earn!
very good i have always have to push hard to promote my stuff lol.
But I am moving on more to more podcastig now and game testing.
But I might write when I feel like it.

and earned well. No I am motivated to write and promote daily.
It's similar to making videos and streams, but with this i see the money right away
with no follows. But promotion tactics are the same.

I do not have a subscription. What are the chances of earning good without a subscription?

I don't have a subscription. But at least 3 of my articles were picked as a Top Story. A Top Story earns $5. You also earn for views. Unlike Medium, where they only count the views of the community, Vocal.Media pays for views of all visitors.

The payout is $35, which I have not reached. I haven't been trying, though. I pop in to Vocal.Media now and then.

Give it a try. I wouldn't want to discourage you. They are honest, and they do pay. It might work for you!

One reason why I never published on Vocal is because of high payment threshold. I would have tried it it had just $5 withdrawal threshold.

I agree the payment threshold is high. But I'm still experimenting with it because Medium earnings are just going nowhere. But I stick with Medium because I've been there for 10+ years.

As for Vocal.Media, I'm going to keep trying to publish a Top Story. You get $5 if your content is picked. So far I have 3 Top Stories. The cutoff is $35. If I get 4 more Top Stories, I can at least withdraw the $35. No point leaving the $15 in the account. I want my money!

That's right and good too, but who cares, especially the site owners nowadays?

What I'm doing is writing at Vocal.Media to see if I can get $5 for a Top Story. But then I'm republishing at either Medium or my standalone blogs. I'm revising, repurposing, and recycling the content. Medium has an earnings program, and my blogs are monetized.

I kind of got the idea from a lady who owns a website where I write reviews.
One day I found an excerpt of my content on IMDb. I didn't know how it got there.

So I asked (because I wasn't sure if someone stole my content from her site). She said she created an account on IMDb and uses it to redirect traffic to her site.

The light bulb went off in my head.
