MyLot was the first community I had ever been in that had members who were inactive for over 5 years but they came back and picked up where they off.

Perhaps the new Admin has plans to grow (or regrow) the community and try to attract the people who got chased away. MyLot doesn't delete accounts unless the member request the deletion. It could be the Admin can send an eMail to those users and invite them to return, letting them know that they would be very welcome.

I mean ... if it was me that's what I would do.

This is one site I used to like but it been long I used the site maybe I have to revisit the site and start again. I hope the pay per interaction has increased a lot now. will have to try it out again

Yep. I thought it needed to happen a year or two ago, but better late than never. Everything (according to her) was always the other person's fault or a 'glitch' in the system was responsible, but never her.

I do not get who was "Digital Karen". I can guess it but still want to make sure. Was it the same person who kind of tried to ostracize me for discussions on Cricket; telling me that since it is not an "International" sport and more of a colonial legacy, I should not start discussions on it.

LOL. "Karen" started off a name of the type of person, usually a white girl, who thinks she is better than everybody else.

If you ever watched Saturday Night Live comedy skits they make jokes about "Karen types" all the time.

The SNL jokes you can laugh at. Honestly the first time I heard the name "Karen" was in the context of racism. It was not funny. A "Karen" will see a black man in a public park bird-watching or walking his dog and will make an emergency call to the police and swear the man was trying to attack her. There was a lady who actually did that. Other people pulled out their phone cameras to record the incident and the video of her LYING went viral!

A "Digital Karen" is someone who does nasty stuff like that online.

I don't know why they picked the name "Karen". I guess it's sort of a generic name.

Maluse has her particular style, she is a very direct person but not necessarily bad. She had already did something similar with me but I didn't take it personally and everything went well.

Oh, did she leave on her own? I had some good interactions with her but well on some topics, it was not something that one can state as comfortable or good!

Frankly, I watch very few TV shows now and especially since my TV has long been out of order and I am kind of avoiding the big expense in repair/new purchase.
It has been some time since I started watching some more movies- Netflix/YouTube etc.
But well, I think now some people might start thinking before keeping their new born girl's name as "Karen".

Interestingly, if we modify "Karen" to "Karn" or "Karan", that becomes a well known mythological character of Indian epic "Mahabharata" !

But well, I think now some people might start thinking before keeping their new born girl's name as "Karen".

My friend is a huge fan of the late Karen Carpenter. Also his wife's name is Karen. He really likes the name and so when people use it this way he gets very upset. But it's a thing now.

Some other people got upset with Amazon and wanted to sue Jeff Bezos for using the name "Alexa" because now people make corny jokes about their name. Some mothers are saying their daughters are being bullied because of the name.

Of course, the cases won't go anywhere. Bezos said he thought of the name Alexa because he was thinking of the library of Alexandria in Egypt.

It seems 'Karen' started out as a Meme that went viral. By the way, the male equivalent of a 'Karen' is a 'Ken'. Honestly I don't hear very many Ken jokes. But I hear lots of Karen jokes.

Well, that is some news. I did interact with her on some discussions and some were frank but enjoyable as well.

If she got a warning maybe she will have a different behavior now, she has often very bad mood but I think that if we don't take it personally and just move on she changes her attitude.
