Re: So more adults buy toys for themselves than for children

Postby SHAHID987 » 17 Aug 2023, 01:20

Toys are something which is associated with childhood and we do have golden memories of childhood, so some of us like to buy toys for ourselves even in old age.

If an adult use more toy than a children in my country people will think it is because he or she doesn't use enough toy when young but I believe it is a joke but in the real case the condition is rear

I think it has more to do with upbringing than anything else. If you grew up playing with lots of toys as a child, there is every tendency you would continue as an adult.

I think it is not in anyway polite as an adult to be using toy instead of buying it for the young one but yet it can be categorized as a way to take away sorrow

In as much as there are toys for children, adults should also have their own toys. Though I do not know what most of them do with those toys they purchase.

this is a question I asked myself as well because I don't know what an adult will do with the toy.

I thought adults buy pets because I believe it is an escape from depression. But these trends of buying toys, I don't understand. Maybe, it is the desire to feel young again..

Adults getting toys for themselves could be for their own pleasure I suppose. But I do not see myself playing with toys at old age..

Gen Alpha girls, You know the 10 to 13 year old girls of this generation, do not buy toys, they buy skin care. Millenial adults are the ones who buy toys for themselves.

That's not an absolute rule. The 10-13 year old girls I know are into music (boybands, pop stars), gaming, cartoons, board games and stickers, not so much skin care products.

Also, as a kid I didn't usually buy toys for myself because I didn't have any money. I think that's still a pretty common situation.

Play with them, or display them and look at them.

30 years ago adults use computer, children plays toys, Now the roles reversed.

I was a kid 30 years ago and we used computers then too. The games we played weren't as sophisticated (bad graphics etc) but we loved them all the same.

You are so dated, children dont play toys anymore. They prefer an Ipad with apps. Adults are the reason toys stay relevant.

Children do still play with toys. I say this as a teacher who works with young children. Lego is as popular as it ever was with kids. Dolls, blocks, pretend house items (mini kitchens etc.), dress ups and action figures are all still used.

In my region, only rich adult girls buy toys. The males are trained to be alpha and buying toys negates the principles of alpha males.

That's interesting, can you please tell us a little more about that and what it involves?

What country do you live in?

When I see adult people buy Star Wars lego sets for over 250$, I can understand why children complain.
