My daily schedule is awful! My opinion. I would like to wake up consistently each day at the same time but my waking period is dictated by whether or not I can get to sleep. Sometime I'm up at 8:30AM. Sometimes I'm up but 10 or 11 AM.

I wake up, do some exercise, write an article, make breakfast, do some cleaning and go online. The rest of the day comes just on its own.

I have been doing school requirements for the past 7 days. Our task was to summarize 4 chapters of lessons. We need to write (hand written) a summary, all the equations, and 2 problems from each chapter. Very time consuming for just one subject. I barely find time for Forum coin.

I am busier now than I ever was when I worked a full time job.

I retired some years ago. I got bored watching movies, eating and gaining weight. I finally asked my landlord if I could do some yard work for the exercise and he invited me to “knock myself out.” I never did this kind of work beyond maintaining my own yard before I sold it. I guess I must be doing something right.

A few months later, he came by the apartment complex and was stunned. Although I was only doing it for the exercise, he really liked what he saw and offered me a discount on my rent. He had another apartment down the street and invited me to see what I could do there. He liked it and again offered me a bigger discount to keep it up. Then another, and another, and now I maintain 12 of his apartment complex properties for a barter trade for most of my rent.

2 neighbors who saw my work have also hired me to work on their yards. 1 tenant bought her own home and asked me to come and do her yard, but that was a one time deal.

So now I go out every morning to do whatever is needed on as many properties as I can visit in a day. I often work 10 hour days and have clocked in as much as 13 hours in a day. I go out to work 7 days a week except when it rains. I'm outdoors, work alone, and not near anyone who might be ill. I feel pretty safe but I'm so pooped by the time I get home I fall into bed and sleep for hours.

I'm actually finding it difficult to even stay awake long enough to spend much time here on FC and have even skipped a day or two lately. Oh, and my primary reason for doing all this was for the exercise. I've lost more than 60 pounds and still dropping weight. Better yet, feeling much better than I have for years.

Aside from my usual household chores - doing the laundry and washing the dishes used for breakfast, what takes up most of my time nowadays is creating YouTube content for my EducAngel channel. I also go to the resort from time to time.

AMEN TO THAT! I work way more hours than I did when I worked outside the home. But I don't really mind because I don't feel pressure. I set my own pace. It's nice you get a chance to go outside and enjoy the sunshine. Sounds like you're enjoying retirement.

That's a great story, good for you OldGuy. Is the work you do mostly garden maintenance, or what does it actually involve? Did you have to be tools and equipment for the work, or did you already have them?

All my work is general yard maintenance, including trimming hedges, mowing lawns, raking leaves, general landscaping and other miscellaneous cleanup. I've sifted out all kinds of stuff on a sifting table to reuse and have done a variety of stonework such as walkways and patios along the way.

I was just doing 5 complexes within walking distance of home but with our new agreement Feb 1, there are now 8 more that I have to drive to get there. The landlord provides all the tools and equipment. It was all in a storage space near the first 5 and I would carry what I needed to do each place.

Now that I have to drive around, it is all loaded in my car except the lawnmowers. He has one at each property. Note I mentioned 8 more instead of 7. He just added another to my list a couple of days ago. I just now took a break because it is too hot to work in the direct sun with no shade.

That is a very good reply I got for my question. I think you are doing very well. You started doing it as exercise and now you are a pro of it. That is inspiring. You have found a new version of your self. keep it going and stay safe.

Well I should give credit to a lot of my friends in the various social networks. They have given me a lot of advice and tips on how to do certain things. Many of these things I did not know. They are very gracious to share with me and help me out.
