Re: Favorite Christmas Food

Last night was so funny!

As yesterday was taco Tuesday, I wanted to have nachos and cheese.

We had a brand new bag of tortilla chips bought on sale right after Christmas.

I opened the bag and the tortilla chips were green and red! Totally Christmas-themed tortilla chips.

Too funny!

It's interesting to see all the comments on this thread. Such divergent Christmas food ideas! I've never been a fan of the Christmas fruit cake... sickly sweet and the alcohol in it makes me feel sick. I'd rather go with mince pies. But to answer the question, I love the British or Danish Chrismas dinner main course. It's just basically a roast dinnner with all the trimmings. I love the addition of parsnips to the British version.

Over here the most common Christmas food is rice, either fried rice or jollof, or even any kind of rice related dish. I don't have a favorite though as long as there is food, drink's and meat i am good to go.

LOL. I used to like the Danish cookies in the can that people always gave out every Christmas. But then I heard that they were made in India. I don't know how to feel about that.

You have taught myself a lesson. I have never had rice for the holidays. Maybe I can start a new trend? ;) ;)

I want to try Italian rice balls. I've heard they're a favorite for the holiday.

I have mentioned that I can only prepare no-bakes.

Should I create plates of various store-bought cookies to give or plates of no-bakes?

I know how much I appreciate a plate of cookies for the holidays.

Have you ever had fish balls or apple balls?

Never. The closest I've come to that is fish fritters or fish cakes, and apple fritters. I wonder if it's the same recipe, but they just shape it differently.

A relative would prepare the fish balls and apple balls for Christmas Eve. I am clueless to preparing.

Oh, game here is a slang we use which means we are ready or interested.
So if a person says "am game" they are simply saying count me in, am interested, or am ready
