A Youtuber died in 2020 but his channel is still active

Postby Netherrealmer » 27 Apr 2025, 15:41

Yosemitebear62 is one of the earliest youtuber ever. He got viral with this video Double Rainbow.

He died on 2020 because of Covid but before he died He managed to make 35 years worth of videos that are gradually releasing videos. He has been dead for 5 years but his channel still actively uploads video since before he died, According to youtube he have 35 years worth of videos that are still scheduled to upload. How he manage to make this happen? He actively makes videos during the times before he got sick. They scheduled them before he got sick. His channel is mostly him hiking in forest and climbing mountains to capture rainbows.

I did not know that Youtube has provisions for scheduling the release of video content.
Shortly, I will investigate if I am eligible for making use of this provision and leverage of it.

Yeah, you can schedule uploads on YouTube. It’s a normal feature. When you’re uploading, you just pick "Schedule" instead of "Publish" and set whatever date and time you want. Super easy. A lot of creators do it to stay ahead, especially if they wanna take breaks or stack up content.

Interesting.
I wonder who is receiving the income deriving from this Youtuber's account.

Talk of a lasting legacy.

May his soul rest in peace though, it would be awesome if the profit goes to a love one or something.

I am now sure whether Google has policies for inheriting a loved one's youtube account, and the proceeds thereof.
Such policy would invite numerous controversies, I think.

What a funny situation.
I bet the family are thanking this young man for having created a gift that keeps giving in the form of his YouTube videos.
How many Youtubers are already emulating Yosemitebear62?

Is this not a clear example of a man doing the hardwork for his family to enjoy? If he had kids, they would be reaping from their father's hardwork now.

I was actually going to ask if he still gets paid, so that's nice to know. I wasn't aware of him. MHSRIEP.

Quite an interesting fact!
I think someone close to him would have scheduled many of his created videos so that one can see regular updates.
Yet it is amazing as to how many videos he was able to create.

How much you can choose date for publishing content max in future? I always guess it was a year but looks it is longer.

I know that one can schedule videos on YouTube for up to 18 months. I know of a friend that did that 4 years ago. Don't know if the duration is more than that now.

I have searched YouTube and I don't seem to find any information on how long one can schedule videos. Seems to be definitive.

Nico Avocado made 2 years worth of videos of him being a fat mukbanger, Behind the scenes he was going through weight loss which shocks people when he finally reveals.

Can family file some request and send more videos about owner so they added it to future publishing?
